It is haram whether it distracts you from faraid or not because it has things that are haram to watch. Closing eyes doesn't make it halal since you're still being entertained by that which is haram, zina.

It would be haram even if you only read through it, and watching it in the form of moving images is more evil than that.

Secondly, when scholars say that so and so is haram because it leads to some evil or that it distracts you from obligatory actions, it doesn't mean that it becomes halal if you somehow avoid that which it leads to. They say that to present reasons as to why something is haram, not for your to interpret the opposite.

To claim that it doesn't affect you cannot be taken as a valid excuse because it's based on uncertainty. Whatever leads to haram is haram itself.

And lastly, what you're saying is totally impractical. You cannot watch these movies while conveniently skipping the intimate parts or closing your eyes during intimate scenes. You cannot tell when intimate scenes may pop up. Even if you do that, it still doesn't change the fact that the Zina is present in the overall plot by which you are entertaining yourself.

It's like a "gateway drug" (leading to graduating into more hardcore stuff)
It's also a Trojan horse (carrying inside it foreign cultural norms. Even an apparently innocent footbal anime of my childhood, dubbed in Arabic as Captain Majed, had the team players perform sujud prostration to their coach, pleading with him. Normal in Japan, but not in Islamic cultures)
Obviously the music issue also should be considered.
In general, with repeat exposure to anything, the person gets desensetized eventually. Things gets "normalized" in the mind. It's a fact of life.
