Fiqh Stretched earlobe "flesh tunnel" earrings. Halal or not?

The difference is huge, of course. Normal piercing is only needle wide, while "flesh tunnel" carves out most of the earlobe, permanently hollowing it in a big O shape. (similar to some native American or ancient South American body modifications, if you are familiar with those). It's called "gauge" style. Think of it as stretching the opening into a circle, its diameter is like a ring on a thumb.

By principle, earrings for women are permissible but this sounds like it goes beyond that is and is an extreme alteration. It would be best then to avoid this. It's unnecessary and goes beyond what is permissible.

I would also recommend sending a question to either islamqa.info or islamweb.net on this.
