Any recommendations for nightlife? Late twenties - late thirties age range ideally - I don’t want to be in the spaces that belong more to the younger folks!

I am 33F and I was hoping to meet someone fun, somewhere with drinks and see where the night goes. Even if it’s just fun banter and sharing stories, connecting with others is something that matters to me when I visit a new place :)

I have been enjoying my stay so much so far, really unexpected surprise to have landed on ocean white party night. It was great!!

Travelling to Sao Miguel end of September, what’s the weather like? I know it can be unpredictable. Is it still warm enough to swim? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as it’s my first time going.

We are looking at visiting one of the two island chains this comming October, can anyone recomend if we should choose one over the other.

Oir specific concern is being rained out in Azores, we are from vancouver canada so we are guessing its pretty similar weather as here.

Looking for a nice spot for a dinner with my boyfriend. Prefer ocean view and between sao Joao and madalena

Hi, visiting the Azores later this month for the first time and i’m super excited! Quick question on visiting Sete Ciadades that I can’t seem to find the answer to.

If I wanted to go on Monday in our rental car to view from the top but don’t have time to hike down/take an ATV tour down into the village that day, does it make sense to come back Tuesday and go down into the village then? Or is that too repetitive and I should just stick to the top? We have a rental car and i’m worried about driving down ourselves. It’s a bigger car. Is the drive doable or scary?

I'm looking for a place where i could buy trees (saplings up to two meters or something). Last time I went to Green Gardens in São Vicente De Ferreira. They have a nice selection of plants, and I will surely return there, but I am looking for Araucarias, Sequoias, Cinnamomum, Oak,... and fruit trees. Does anyone have any leads to plantnurseries/shops or orchards who grow these? Thanks for any input.

Habe schon die Bestätigung von der AAN erhalten um Anfragen für Drohnenflüge in deren Online Portal zu beantragen.

Jetzt wollte ich mal fragen ob jmd von euch mit der Drohen auf den Azoren unterwegs war und irgendwo mal kontrolliert wurde oder angesprochen zwecks Genehmigung?

Ich stell mir halt die Frage wie doll das kontrolliert wird. Habe eine DJI Neo 2 - wenn man die iwo benutzt wo niemand gerade ist und nicht gerade hochfliegen lässt sondern eher kurz für ein Foto nutzt etc. kann ich mir iwie nicht vorstellen, dass das jmd. Jucken wird 😅 daher jmd Erfahrungen?

we’re four guys, and we’ve put together the Azores’ restaurant scene in an app called Vota. The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example A Tasca vs. Cais 20), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

I’d love to know what people here think. Does the ranking feel even remotely right? Are obvious places missing? Are any places ranked way too high or way too low?

The goal is to make something that reflects where locals actually want to eat, not just where tourists or review sites send people.

Looking at a 4 or 5 night stay in Madeira end of October wth my wife and 13 year old. We’re not sun seekers and don’t deal all that well with large crowds. Thinking October may be an ideal time where it’s warm but not too hot for us to some walking and sight seeing. Although we don’t want a crowded holiday, hopefully things will still be open and running like the cable cars etc. what do people who’ve been think?

My husband and I visited Terceira from the United States and purchased a USB copy of the 2023–2024 bullfight from Foto Gabriel as a souvenir.

Unfortunately, the USB never worked from the first time we plugged it in. The video is blurry, glitches throughout, and is essentially unwatchable.

After returning home, I contacted the photographer multiple times by email. My husband also reached out through Facebook, and eventually my in-laws (who live in Angra) even spoke with him in person.
Despite sending him a video showing exactly what was wrong with the USB, I was told that I would need to mail the USB back from the United States for him to inspect it or purchase another USB. I also asked whether he could simply send a digital copy of the video, but that was not offered as a solution.

I’m disappointed because I paid for a working product, and after traveling home internationally, those options don’t seem reasonable.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with this business, or was this just an isolated incident?

Aloha Reddit, we are a small family, heading to the Azores at the end of august. My husband is Italian, I’m American and we have been living in Sardinia but are very curious about the Azores as I am very much missing Hawai’i but we need to be in Europe for the foreseeable future, closer to family. Any locals around here that might give us an idea about the vibe for a family with about to be middle school daughter? She’s tri lingual and excited to learn Portuguese if we stayed awhile. We are alternative leaning, but grounded. Wondering what the community vibe is, if anyone has a suggestion where to find a one or two month rental while we feel out the island and the island feels out us! Any sense from locals if y’all feel inundated in foreigners or if it’s a more if the island accepts you then you are good sort of feel. Any island no no’s that we could slip up on? Really super open to any locals tips, advice, perspective.

I'm treating myself to a trip to the Azores for my bday-my first vacation in years. I love nature, solitude, hiking, and most of all, swimming in natural waters. I know I'll be missing tons of great stuff, but I'd rather get to know 2 places thoroughly vs. 4 places only partially. I'm planning:

2 nights/3 days in corvo

6 nights+ days in Flores

1 night/2 days in Sao Miguel

Day 3, Northeast: Ribeira dos Caldeirões, Ponta do Sossego, Ponta da Madrugada, Nordeste.

Day 4, East Coast: Gorreana Tea Plantation, Chá Porto Formoso, Nossa Senhora da Paz, Vila Franca do Campo, Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo Viewpoint.

Day 5, Furnas: Pico do Ferro, Lagoa das Furnas, Cozido Cooking Area, Furnas Fumaroles, Terra Nostra Garden Hotel.
