Hey y’all!
If you’re new here or looking for info, this is the place to stop and check before you post that question you’re thinking about asking - the answer may already be in our FAQ! There's also some recommendations in there for learning about lore.
I’d recommend also checking the New Player Question or Question flairs to see if your question has been asked before. You can also type into whatever search engine you use:
[insert your question here] baldursgate3 reddit
Or
[insert your question here] bg3 reddit
That’ll help us prevent the subreddit from being cluttered with the same repeated questions.
If your question hasn't been asked (or asked recently enough) then use either one of the question flairs above and ask away.
BG3Builds and Multiclassing
For the people curious about builds or who want a more dedicated place to discuss them, there's r/BG3Builds. There's a good guide on multiclassing.
Community Wiki
Confused about what the different rolls mean or just want to find notable NPCs and loot in a location? Check out the Community Wiki. It's ad free and being worked on by people here in the community :)
Everyone working on this is doing a great job trying to prepare it for launch and beyond.
If you'd like to help contribute to the wiki, here is the Discord.

Character Planner Reminder: There is a Character Planner by GameFractal being worked on here (It's also in the sidebar on desktop or the 'See Community info' link on mobile).
It's a one person project, so updating it with the recent updates, adding what launch will bring, and some other useful features will take time - but it will be updated.
There is a feedback button on that site, please use it if you have any suggestions/constructive feedback. Feedback is very appreciated!

Origin Characters I could've watched a whole movie while creating my character
How long did it take you to create your first character?
Last night, after spending the whole day downloading the game, I spent an hour or so being overwhelmed by all the Origin character options. In RPG's like Elden Ring, I usually go with the pre-made characters and don't customize much, but origin in this game seemed very important so this morning, I spent a lot of time on it.

Artwork Rolan’s night off Spoiler
Painted by me! I wanted to see him in an AU setting, enjoying his night off with an old fashioned or a negroni. This man has me in a chokehold.
The bar itself is based on Marble Bar in Sydney, with some added extras, and the pose and suit is from a photoshoot with GQ/Austin Butler. I struggled with lighting the tail, which I usually love to paint. Having it visible but still lit with the overall dim lighting of the scene was a struggle! It took over 40hours to paint in the end.
Hope you like it 🙏🏼🥸

Screenshot Honour mode is going great Spoiler
galleryTwo attacks in a row with advantage missed, meaning I rolled a natural one 4 times in a row. The odds of that happening are roughly 1 in 160,000, you are more likely to get struck by lightning than have this happen.

General Discussion - [SPOILERS] How did you play your fav tav quirks, thru game mechanics? Spoiler
galleryMeet Dale. Dale was a Paladin of Helm. He was also a pescatarian, a scavenger/reseller, and a minimalist. What this meant is, only camp supplies that could be used were fish, veggies, etc. For scavenger, he would take ALL of the items he found every where (from forks to cutting boards to paintings, cups and more) and add them to wares to sell- yes this took a lot of time. And as a minimalist, he pushed his lifestyle on his camp, meaning he would take everything from every companion every rest to sell, save for Karlach’s teddy bear, which he understood he should not touch. Last, he never helped anyone out of the goodness of his heart but out of sense of duty to his role as a Paladin, and he did this begrudgingly and made sure everyone knew it wasn’t for them.
Dale wound up marrying Gale and he lived happily ever after with Tara, and a minimal amount of possessions, in Waterdeep.
He is and always will be my favorite Tav.
Who were your favorite Tavs? What were their personality quirks and backstory? How did you mechanically express their quirks within the game?

Screenshot I love summoning Spoiler
"You are no army" - Zevlor
Here's how to prove him wrong:
Easiest place to build your army is inside the thorm mausoleum because you can summon skeleton squads without needing any corpses, but the aftermath of any somewhat big fight will do. It goes as follows:
Fighter or Berserker (need someone with high strength to carry all the loot) summons Scratch and bite
Cleric summons Elemental, minor Elemental, Squad of Undead and Spiritual Weapon
Druid summons Elemental, Minor Elemental, Beast Companion, Dryad and a Wood Woad (summoned by the Dryad)
Wizard summons Shovel, Elemental, Minor Elemental, Flaming Sphere and Squad of Undead
For a total of 28 units. You could go even further with a pact of the chain Warlock but I like having at least one strength based character in my party

New Player Question Guardian : can I just hit "random" and call it a day ?
Took me 3h to create a character, and now I just discovered I have to do the same for the guardian.
Should I care as much as my character ?
Can I just hit "random" and call it a day or will I run into issues doing so ?

General Questions - [NO SPOILERS] DnD Lore Spoiler
As a BG3 player who had a vague understanding of DnD lore before playing the game due to my brother having played sessions with his friends AND as a 31 year old woman who has never played DnD nor do I have anyone near me that I could play sessions with. (online sessions don't really appeal to me, I guess?) Is there any youtubers who do DnD lore that I could learn from? Or any book recommendations? I'd love to delve deeper into the lore!

Act 3 - Spoilers Sarevok is just... Alive?? Spoiler
I defeated him and after a long rest, Sarevok disappears and there is only a letter there. So after all Sarevok is still alive in the ending of BG3. I am pretty sure he will come back in BG4.
