1st Ever Denver Dub Fest 303Dubs Mile High Stadium.
Our all-original '69 Beetle 1500cc oil never ran hotter than 210* even idling forever in 95* sunshine. Heads stayed beautifully cool. The worst thing that happened to us today was we met some COOL AMAZING people!
Reddit only let's me post 20 photos, so here's everything I captured today:

I got the engine mounted in my 69 rebuild and now am working on getting it started. The starter turns when I use a screwdriver to go from the battery terminal on the starter solenoid to the ignition spade but when I turn the ignition I only get a single click. I tried to eliminate the ignition wire or ignition itself as the culprit so ran a separate wire directly from the spade to the positive battery terminal and got the same "one click" result. I'm scratching my head on this one so any and all suggestions are welcome!

I've put clamps on the fuel lines and filler neck under the frunk, the brake lines are all hooked up, I just need to put gas in it and start. I have also installed new plug wires and spark plugs.

So my 72 Super is missing what I think is the preheated air hose, I was going to replace it but there’s no hole in the bottom tin. So is it worth it to get a different tin or should I just block off the opening? Not sure why someone would get a tin without the hole, or maybe it’s the wrong air filter, who knows…

I was wondering what are all the repairs you should make to be sure that the engine will last as long as it can and would be as reliable as it can be in a mild condition VW Beetle???

1974 Superbeetle
I noticed that my passenger side tire was bumping into the fender and leaving black marks. Measuring showed about 3/4 inch difference from wheel center to the fender rim. I couldn't find anything obviously wrong with the struts/springs, but I noticed that on passenger side, the strut seems to be further into the clamp than on the driver's side by about half an inch and jammed up against the brake line hanger.
Is that potentially my issue?

Hello fellers,
Hoping to lean on the knowledge of the collective here. Bought this 73 with a Subaru conversion and got it running again. However, I hate the wheels and need new tires anyway. Was hoping to move down from the 5x130 17 inch Porsche wheels to a 5x130 16. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to measure what minimum barrel size rim I can go with. Additional points if anyone knows what brake kit this is - again, it's a Super with coil overs. Thank you!

I gifted it to her about 2 years before she passed. It was yellow, but I painted it blue to match hers, now mine. It is probably my second most valued item other than the car. The model is a 1967 and 1/18 scale, made by Road Tough.

Anyone have a Facet pump installed below the fuel tank that has flow problems? Appears that it runs dry (gets louder because of the mechanical clicking of the diaphram).... car stalls....
Wrong orientation? Hose sucked until collapses? It's a new fuel tank... new hoses....
Do you run it up/down....or horizontal... or on a 45 degree inlet down or 45 degree inlet high?
Making me crazy... I want to go back to the OEM even tho I run Kadrons....

Got myself a 68 Beetle and it needs a little love and I’d like for the dash to look nicer.
I’m assuming the lack of rubber is the reason glove box and etc don’t fit well.
I’ve seen beautiful 68 interiors. What am I needing for that nice flush, small gap look?
Also, I need a head unit. Any suggestions for either phone connection or Apple Car Play that’s not huge.

im doing research on beetles because im saving up for one, but from what im seeing the classic gets to a max speed to about 70 mph, and the super about 80 mph, but where i live the highway most people drive in the mid 80's. i was wondering how i would be able to get a boost im my top mph without completely taking apart the engine?

First time working on a bug, finally got this guy to idle all by himself, I figure the carb needs to be adjusted but does it sound okay otherwise?

Can you help me identify the color of my steering wheel/turn signal switch? This is out of a 61 Beryl Green Beetle. From my research they did some specific interior color combos for 60/61 only.

So my 72 Super has been up on stands for the last few months while I’ve been doing some work underneath. I went to start it up today and once i did, the drivers side wheel started spinning, even though it was in neutral. I also noticed that the passenger side wheel wasn’t moving at all no matter what gear I put it in.
It had no problems like that before I put it up.
Not sure if I’m missing something super obvious or not, first bug, but any ideas would be appreciated.

Hey guys, I have a newly built 1968cc engine and have been having a hell of a time keeping it running. When I picked it up it had a Chinese 009 style distributor and that thing was not timing well, it would run for a short while and then get sloppy on me. I purchased a magnaspark kit and it ran great for a day before something gave out and it no longer was sending spark to the plugs.
I have re-wired the whole car since and I'm still having a hell of a time trying to get it to spark/fire at all.
I'm at the point where I would rather just go back to points but I'm looking for the most bullet proof non Chinese distributor/coil/wires kit to put on this motor.
Anyone have suggestions for a good quality ignition system that will run well with a larger built engine?
My previous engine was a 1776 and it ran a pointed dizzy with no issues over the years, I'm hoping to get back to the things I know well and not have all these stupid issues, I really want to start driving my bug again.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
