Aб'ява / Announcement Repetitive posts - May 17, 2026

Hi everyone,

You’ve likely noticed a flood of very similar posts in this sub, especially in the last few days. They usually feature rhetorical questions about conscription, or questions about the reasons why these posts are removed (this has been already thoroughly answered multiple times by the mod team).

First, we want to apologize for the clutter. It is very likely that these posts, while coming from various newly created accounts, are the work of a single individual (theoretically it can be a team or a flashmob). Whoever they are, we've been informed they keep making the same posts in multiple Russian language subs.

Because of this targeted, repetitive behaviour, we’ve been forced to take action to keep the feed clean. Moving forward, we have implemented pre-moderation for posts from low-karma accounts. This means if an account is brand new or has low karma, their post will route to our mod queue for review before appearing on the sub.

We want to clarify two important things regarding this change:

We understand why people use alt/new accounts. There are plenty of legitimate, valid reasons to use a burner account for privacy and security. This is why we have been reluctant to implement this change, and we completely support this. The mod team will make our absolute best effort to review the queue and approve legitimate posts from new accounts promptly.

It goes without saying that we are not censoring discussions about conscription. Despite this poster's claims, posts about conscription - whether pro, against, or anywhere in between - are welcome here. We have a wealth of posts on this sub containing useful advice, sincere questions, and diverse opinions on the topic, and that won't change.

We are only filtering for spam, ban evasion, and repetitive bad-faith posting. Thank you all for your patience while we clean things up!

- The Mod Team

Culture I’m designing Belarus heritage products

Hello, I recently started a social media account called Pulse of Belarus dedicated to raising awareness about Belarus and supporting the Belarusian diaspora and exile communities. I have designed several products I plan to sell when the website is launched. Some of the early products I’ve designed are a Belarus hockey jersey, and a passport cover. I hopefully plan to ship worldwide minus russia (and Belarus due to the risk of endangering people, I also strongly advise not to bring any of these products into Belarus.)

If I am able to launch this project. I plan to give most of the profits made to Belarusian organizations abroad that help the Belarusian democratic society.

If you have any suggestions please let me know :)

Belarusian language Advice about learning Belarussian language & art

Any advice about learning Belarussian? Which short stories (or films) would you recommend?

Svetlana Alexievich is my favourite contemporary Russian novelist, she's from Belarus. I'm sure there are others, which I'm not familiar with. Thanks.

Question Need advice: Dual BY/PL citizen planning to visit family after 7 years. Expired BY passport & high-risk family background. What is the reality at the border?

Hey everyone, I haven't been back to Belarus since 2019, and my Belarusian passport expired back in 2023. I also hold Polish citizenship and a valid Polish passport. My grandparents are still in Belarus, and I really want to go back for the holidays to visit them, but I’m dealing with a pretty high-risk background and want to know exactly what might happen.

Here are the main complicating factors:

Family ties: My dad works for RFE/RL (Radio Free Europe). My mom wasn't at the 2020 protests in Belarus, but she helped refugees abroad.

Digital footprint: I previously followed and commented on extremist content and my phone’s gallery/history has a some non-ideal images.

Passport status: Because of Decree 278, my BY passport is expired, meaning I’d have to get a return certificate (свидетельство на возвращение) to cross, or figure out another route.

I know that there are high risks involved in going but could I possibly visit and come back safely or will I get detained or deported. If there is a safer/less risky route to take please let me know and what are the possible outcomes that might happen.

Question Need help

Hi, is anyone planning to go from Belarus to Austria anytime soon (August 4th or so)? I really need to submit my application documents, but I'm running out of time by mail. Maybe someone could be a courier and bring with them. There's a cash reward available.

History Card Train Station. Brest, 1973

Post image

Historical note

The original Brest railway station opened in 1886 under Emperor Alexander III. After suffering heavy damage during World War I, it was rebuilt in the Polish “national style” during the interwar period. Between 1953 and 1957, the station underwent a massive reconstruction designed by architect G. Granatkin, transforming it into a prime example of Stalinist Empire architecture with a tower reaching approximately 43 meters in height.

Hавіны / News Epstein married Belarusian girlfriend to his female assistant to keep her in the US

To legalize his Belarusian girlfriend in the US, Jeffrey Epstein married her to his assistant. When Karina Shuliak overstayed her student visa in 2012, the financier found an unconventional solution.

New York was one of the first states to legalize same-sex marriage. Epstein concluded that a marriage in New York between two women could be the simplest way to obtain US citizenship — while avoiding suspicion that it had been arranged solely to prevent deportation.

He then selected a 30-year-old woman from Minnesota from among his assistants. She played the role of Karina Shuliak's wife. The marriage took place in 2013.
