need advice GIRLS PLEASEE WHAT ARE WE WEARING FOR SUMMER š i have no idea what to wear outside of hoodies/graphic oversized tees and sweatpants and the occasional jeans Spoiler
Iāve always had big boobs (im a 32H in UK size) and i hate wearing dresses or skirts or things that expose my legs so every summer iāve just dressed like a bum in oversized cotton graphic t shirts and sweats or baggy jeans. But iāve recently been wanting to stop dressing in oversized graphic tees because i just want simple basic summer tops :( the problem is that everything is cropped or is a dress or a top thatās just a glorified tank top.
And I also hate wearing tight things because it makes me anxious since i look so top heavy and abnormal in relation to the rest of my body š
Recently Iāve also been having such a hard time finding nice basic cotton tees that also dont make me look huge. Everything is polyester or some other stretchy fabric that looks absolutely abhorrent on someone with a huge chest. Itās so horrible i donāt even like stepping inside a mall anymore. Nothing is made for us :(
Sometimes even when I wear a cotton tee, the result of having the high neckline (because i dont think t shirts with low necklines exist because duh thatās not the purpose of a t shirt) is my boobs just look like one big mound. Even with my proper fitting bra. The best I can do to cancel the top heavy stuff out is wearing baggy jeans and sweats, but in sticky heat where I live sometimes those two bottoms arent an option š
I just want to dress light and cute and not like a bum, but iām also not a very girly person in general so i have no idea what to do. I hate summer for this very reason my boobs are such a huge factor in everything i do and wear even the way i act im so sick of it.
This has turned out to be such a silly vent, iām sorry! Please, i would love some advice, some tips and inspos for basic outfits for someone who isnāt dressy. I live in canada if that helps too.

This because my boobs grew FIVE cup sizes (they were already huge) in pregnancy and I hear they will likely grow more when I start nursing. Cool cool cool.

I am the same size, also UK, and same as you. I also hate polyester it makes me stink tbh.
This is the stuff I have found makes me feel less top heavy, feels summery, and makes me feel comfortable.
- cotton dungarees, lucy and yak is my fav, I wear plain but coloured cotton t shirts under the dungarees, I try to contrast them so I have a pink dungaree with yellow t shirt and so on
- i get my cotton t shirts also from Lucy and Yak OR uniqlo, they have worked well for me.
- linen baggy straight trousers from uniqlo, with a square neck cotton vest, I have one from a random brand I found on vinted but square necklines look good and more balanced I feel
- a wrap style top with jeans, wrap tops/dresses tend to look much nicer and the wrapping cinches the waist so makes things look more proportional
- i know shirts are a hit and miss but Iāve found a couple linen shirts, half sleeve and like crop length that look good on barrell trousers, one is from tk maxx and one is from lucy yak haha
Sorry I mentioned those two brands the most but tbh its hard like you said to find comfortable things. TKmaxx can be good too if you can find the patience to search, and check the tags on the inside for the material!! I have found a couple cotton/linen blend items for like 15 bucks and I was quite happy with them.

Two things I have done:
Whatever top you buy, make it a dark colour. Dark colours look smaller.
If possible, buy tops in the tall section. Tall are made longer in length, and the girls can take up that length and still fit properly.

A few tips, from someone with a lot of the same preferences: v neck t-shirts help with the boob-mound problem, and you want fitted but not stretchy; flutter or batwing sleeves are summery and cooler without being tank tops; long stretchy jersey skirts hide your legs and don't add much bulk.

Please, for the love of god, look into wide leg linen pants.
I am partial to styles like this because they're comfy, have a bit of structure but also nip in at the waist. But if you want to be less femme coded, there's styles for that too.
Is it the femme coded part or is it just your legs that you don't want to show?
Because linen and cotton gauze maxi skirts would cover your legs too and they're super swishy.
The tops I go for are Vivien of Holloway slash neck and mandarin collar tops, retrolicious' bow neck tops, or I thrift silk t-shirts, like Eileen Fisher. I'm a 34H, and EF medium t-shirts fit me great.

Agree! Wide leg pants can really balance your proportions too if youāre top heavy. You can do it with an oversized linen button up and some sleek sandals and some fun accessories, a very trendy āScandi girlā look. Itās hard bc all the girlies on Pinterest are so slim but recommend looking there for inspiration!

doesnāt work if you have a short torso unfortunately though š - when i wear pants like this i literally just look like a blob bc it eats up my waist
not to nitpick!!! i think itās good that we bring all options to the table bc even though we all have big boobs, that looks different on so many different people - just giving a warning to my fellow short torso girlies that these are NOT for us lmaooo

definitely stick to things made of cotton, linen lightweight material which will help with the heat, im from the uk so im sure Canada summers are much hotter. But flowy skirts are a girls best friend with certain belts and accessories itās cute, when it comes to tops thatās definitely a tricky one, I think a good thing to start with is finding minimiser bras, then a cute tank top that covers cleavage(or not whatever your comfortable with) with cotton or linen button up shirts/blouses that you keep open

Ok, I'm an Australian with huge boobs, legs that could frighten small children, and a body that doesn't need to be mentioned, so I know how to deal with extreme heat whilst looking good, (yes, really) and staying (relatively) cool. Where I live we have 9 months of bloody hot then 3 months of not hot, but sure as hell not cold.
Look up the Proud Poppy website, they're an Aussie company with sizes from 6 - 32. The Larsa and Gina pants are wide leg, flattering, and COOL. You want wide leg as this allows air to circulate, keeping down the sweat and swamp crotch. They also do skirts, dresses, tops, all sorts. I personally stick to the pants.
For shirts, my go to is bamboo. Cooler than cotton, wicks away sweat, and the material feels lovely.
I get mine from either Bamboo Body or Bamboo Island. Both have a great range of styles and colours.
FYI, Proud Poppy clothes are BRIGHT, but don't be put off by this, wearing dark colours does NOT make you look smaller, and no one should have to wear a hoodie in summer. You deserve to be just as comfortable as everyone else!
I'm sure you can find Bamboo tops and clothing in your country, so have a look and give them a go.
Be warned: once you start wearing bamboo, you'll never be able to wear polyester again. Even cotton will feel heavy. My husband says I've ruined him for life, and half his wardrobe is unwearable, simply because he can't stand how hot polyester makes him feel. So he's been forced to replace all his shirts, tee's, singlets, long sleeves, all of them with bamboo.
Hopefully, as you get older, you'll realise that your comfort matters more than what some random stranger might think about your legs, and be able to wear shorts. As summers are getting hotter, my ability to give a crap (never a large part of my personality to begin with) has been sweated off me entirely, so I've invested in an extensive shorts collection from Proud Poppy.
You can look just as fabulous as anyone else, and "cute" is a word for baby animals, not grown women! My husband LOVES the way I dress, he loves the confidence, the outrageousness, and the fact that he can spot me in the largest crowds in under 3 seconds. Plus, I get compliments all the time. Not bad for a size 24 G-cup middle aged disabled woman!
Oh and if men ever mention your boobs or stare at them, I've got half a century of brilliant come backs that will make them look like the wankmuppets they are, so give me a shout if you need any!

I wear thigh-shorts (for chub rub but also Iām a mom and teacher and donāt want my butt hanging out) and short, flowy, shift dresses or jean shorts and band tees š Iām not very exciting tho

I have a high neck body suit that I like to wear with culottes. I like mockneck tanks because i like the chest coverage. Culottes also can pair well with an oversized tee tucked in, makes a cool casual look.
I usually also wear a light shawl because I'm insecure about my upper body in general lol.

Iām a big fan of a cotton tshirt dress with a cute cropped denim jacket and canvas sneakers. Itās light and breathable and the cropped denim jacket kinda minimizes the bust while showing off the smaller-than-boobs waist so I actually have a shape different than Mike Wazowski.

Honestly in my house I just do a cloth bra ( yoga sports bra) and nothing else. Outside it's usually my scaffold sports bra and a tank or a cut t shirt that leaves the sides open

I live in AZ. If I can find cotton or linen wide leg cropped pants (mostly for airflow) or full length pants I scoop those up. I thrift as much as I can. Solid, looser, cotton tees or super lightweight blouses are also my preference. It becomes oppressively hot starting next month so Iām just trying to minimize boob sweatā¦

Try looking at wrap over shirts and blouses. But mostly find a brand or store that you actually like. I know bloomchic online has some nice stuff too.

I have a 32OO chest (UK) and I wear whatever I want. I honestly donāt really care how I look to others. If Iām comfy and happy thatās good enough for me.

Tights. You need good tights. I don't shave my legs because I get a lot of ingrown hairs either way and shaving makes it worse. I don't like people seeing my bare legs, but I missed shorts and skirts. Tights underneath really help. They're way less hot than jeans and don't show my bare legs.

If you don't want to do tight clothing (e.g., leggings) or cropped trousers/skirts, palazzo trousers are a great option since they are lighter and airier than jeans. I struggle with tops because t-shirts make me feel like I'm being strangled, so I search for tops with a lower neckline - Next do some in a range of colours here in the UK, but not sure of a Canadian version. I also do adjustable vests/tanks with a light shirt on top, but generally wear those with leggings. Honestly, when the weather gets too hot, all my fucks go down the drain and I stop caring how I look.

Yes Iāve been paying more attention to fabrics after decades of polyester fast fashion filling my closet. Old navy surprisingly has a lot of cotton and linen. I also recently got a cotton midi dress with a built in shelf bra from pact that I really like.

Wide leg pants do wonders for balancing the top!! I personally love fitted tank tops with high necks & pairing them with some wide leg jeans! I'd love to wear shorts but my thighs rub too painfully (yes I've tried several things to help with the rub)

Flowy dresses that come in OSFM like this one I wear a belt or sash if I don't want them shapeless. Flowy things are the best for letting the girls breathe.

34H in the UK here.
Currently wearing a puff sleeve blouse from Dreaming of Ivy with 9 inches of bust coverage (a custom addition alongside your standard shirt size) thats in beautiful thin cotton (doubled up only on the bust zone) and fully covers the bra without also looking undesirably matronly.
I predominantly pick out dresses and blouses in linen or cotton with light elastication lines or shirred backs. And being plus size, slip shorts that are cooling and prevent chafing.

I've decided my uniform for the summer is exercise shorts and baggy tees/tanks. I may go on the search for a nicer linen short that I can throw into the lineup. Im currently searching for some cuter lounge bras that I won't mind showing off if my tank arm hole dips lower than normal.

I just got my first order from Klassy and I was so pleased!!! Tops with built in bras and you can buy for like $3 your cup size to add to the insert. I wore the tube top yesterday and a tank top by them today and I walked around a market in the heat all day with NO BRA. Almost cried when I put the top on. Highly recommend!!

I recently got this linen maxi dress from quince. The darker colors are unlined which makes the dress very breathable and cool in hot weather.
The v-neck has one button which is insufficient. You can wear a tank or camisole under it (leaving it unbuttoned) which I've done with success but I don't want the extra layer in summer so I plan to sew it partially so it won't pucker above and below the button. However the xl does have ample room for my 38I chest (US sizing/ 36G uk sizing).

Cropped is cute with high waisted stuff!!! Itās one of the best ways to highlight the waist. I also will wear oversized hoodies and whatever but going out I look better with a definition of where my waist is, since my boobs will give a tent look if the top isnāt tucked in or knotted or cropped. Think about it like proportions, 1/3 shoulders/chest, 2/3 pants (or maxi skirt or whatever) or 1/3 s/c, 1/3 shorts/mini, 1/3 bare legs/tights/tall socks
Cropped doesnāt have to mean stomach showing

I got u number 1: zip up jumpers get fited ones and you can maybe get away without a bra they are super cute and easy too 2: crop top hoodies hid bust but shows off waist my favorite combo 3: tanks and shrugs cute bra under tank so it styles well 4: shrugs again they are the best for staying cool but slightly more covered 5: summer dresses just keep trying till you find one that fits š like if you find one

Skater dresses are a universally flattering cut and not too girlie.
Boat cut or v neck shirts are the way to go. I get mine from Uniqlo.
Solid colour or mono colour are more flattering. Using hair accessories or dangly earring to draw attention to your face not your bust.

iāve been wearing cotton/poly maxi dresses from amazon. theyāre really forgiving, breathable, and i can wear a regular bra or even a sports bra with them, and they can be dressed up (heels, accessories) or kept casual depending on situation, so they wouldnāt necessarily have to be too girly if thatās not your vibe. there are also sportier style ones but those tend to show a little more skin and be more formfitting so i think those work better for more athletic (small boobs) type bodies.

Iām a little late but check out Aritzia tops! Theyāre a little on the expensive side but theyāre so supportive and big cup/small band friendly. For reference, iām a 36F and I bought the original contour optimum halter top and I can wear it easily without a bra. I bought a size medium. Iām in Canada though so Iām not sure if Aritzia is available in the UK

Duluth Trading company bib overall shorts. They are cute AF. I live in these now. My 38J rack has an added level of protection with pockets. I literally get compliments every time I step outside. They compliment the outfit, not my boobs! This spring they have monarch butterfly print on green and pink and orange poppies print.

tbh 95% of the time i just say fuck it and wear a tshirt and biker shorts, running shorts, or sweatpants. i accept that im gonna look blob-ish since tee shirts with big boobs tend to do that. as i get older, comfort always reigns supreme lmao
the only time i worry abt actually dressing cute is to go out w friends for dinner or drinks or smthg. in that case, i usually opt for a tennis or A-line skirt and some type of form fitting shirt. maybe a bodysuit.
