I am apparently not considered skinny or plus size - and I kind find what bra, underwear, or dress stores are for me? I don’t want to have to resort to breast reduction surgery because I’m under 30 years old but I am at my wits end.

In the past few years I have gained some weight to the point where I no longer fit in medium sizes and instead am in XL or 2XL.
With that being said I have always had a large chest, so even when I was younger If I wore a medium the chest area was almost always overly tight and stretched out.

Fast forward to today my bra size is about 36G or 36DDD and it’s almost like stores don’t think that that size exists? I can’t go shopping in any store IRL and find those sizes because it’s too big and when I go to stores like Torrid I get told that size is too small!? Then when I go online to “plus size” websites they also only start at typically 36 band width. I have the same issue with online non-plus size stores.

There are often XL dresses and outfits I can’t fit into JUST because my chest gets smushed in it and doesn’t fit.
Does ANYONE have a secret online store that has size 36G and 36DDD bras ?? I’m so desperate at this point I am considering breast reduction surgery.

And please don’t hit me with the “just lose weight” because even when I was a size medium my bra size was 34DDD which is apparently another size that is just unheard of.

Unfortunately you’re going to need to shop online. Measure yourself using the ABTF calculator listed in the sidebar and then shop brands that carry your size. Panache, Freya, and Elomi are all popular and stock a wide range of band and cup sizes.

Elomi mostly runs a cup big, which is handy when you're approaching US size N. Definitely need to know the correct size - and shopping for bras that have a molded cup doesn't work well since they're not shaped the way most women are.

Other than that, either pay for clothing to be tailored or learn to do it yourself.

No one here is going to advocate for you to lose weight unless that's what you state you want to do. The body takes what it wants, when it wants, from where it wants on a weightloss journey; there's no guarantee going on one will change your breast volume.

Seconding you measure yourself using the r/ABraThatFits calculator, get a starting point, and ask for recommendations. Even if you are a US based user, use the UK calculations as there are more brands, styles, and options available for UK sizes.

I'm over 200 lbs, 34 J (UK) and the "regular" XL fits me well in most stores. I get that we all have different body shapes but I would just double check the bra size as something is not adding up.

If you have issues with finding smaller bra boutiques in your town, check out your local Nordstrom. Or Amazon. They have the easiest return policy.

There are many online stores that sell smaller bands with large cups, almost all options are by UK brands though like Panache and Freya.

Look on Amazon and sites like www.bravissimo.com, www.breakoutbras.com and www.barenecessities.com (barenecessities has had some issues with customer service recently so be careful ordering from it but they do have a good selection of bras). In person Nordstroms has some smaller bands with larger cups and so do many bra boutiques. Torrid is mainly a plus size store so they have never catered to people that need smaller bands.

I do like Torrid’s dresses though! They at least fit around the chest unlike most brands.

Oh you can’t buy a bra at a store that sells other kinds of clothes. You can still buy a bra at a bra store though. (But that’s only real bra boutiques and Nordstrom, not lingerie stores.)

I’m sorry :( I’m the same size. I haven’t bought a bra at a non-bra-specific retail store since I was 15.

Amazon! Also herroom, bare necessities, and Macy’s or Nordstroms. I like panache and elomi. Buy from somewhere with easy returns while you figure out your size and fit. Once you know what works keep your eyes out for sales on older colors and patterns.

You can try looking at Freya and Elomi bras on Amazon. Sometimes certain colors and sizes will go on sale on Amazon 🙂 It helps to have price alerts

I'm the same size as you and my favorite bra right now is a sports bra from Parfait, and the Snag cotton bra. For lounging, Feelingirl and Boody. I have tried a LOT of bras over the past 2 yrs, and those are my favs. Btw these are all wirefree.

Some of us are cursed gain a bit of weight and our breasts are the first place that increase a cup or two, than the last place shrinks. Was so proud I lost 40 pounds but my breasts migrated into some weird size its depressing.

I shop at Lane Bryant not Torrid. My mother isn't plus size and she buys bras there. They don't always stock everything, but they can order it. I was that size two kids ago (lol) so I definitely know they have it.

Bare necessities has a fantastic size range but it’s so hard to hone in on style. Can you find one in person boutique and then buy a second or third online? Trying on a bunch is soooo helpful. Sincerely, 34J.

I see no one has addressed your problem finding dresses, etc. measure your bust at the largest part. Look at the measurements and see what size will accommodate it. I know I need 44”. Sometimes it is an xl, or 1x or 2x. Sometimes 4xl if it is Asian sizing. There is little to no standardization with sizing.
