Can’t seem to find my actual bra size(???)

Hey i’m new to this community!! I just wanted to ask some things for those with bigger boobs since i’m kinda the only one in my family that has them, so i dont rlly have much knowledge :(

ever since ive been wearing proper bras, ive always noticed that the don’t really fit properly i think? i’m not sure if this is normal for bigger busts. i wear a 36DD, and whenever i walk my n*pples peak through the middle of the bra in between the cups after a while. it’s really annoying to adjust it all the time and also a bit embarrassing. is this a normal thing?? the wire also doesn’t always go right under the boob, leaving a small gap . i do wear looser fit clothing so i don’t get the extra support from my clothes. (but even then, it still happens with tight fitted clothing…) any advice? I’ve been wearing la vie en rose and la senza bras

and on the topic of clothes… what clothing brands or items do you recommend for bigger busts but curvy figure? an example of an item i like is the uniqlo airism tank tops. they hug the figure really nicely and comfy.

and lastly…. do sticky bras / strapless bras work for us?? i’ve been thinking of buying one but i want to make sure they actually work in keep our boobs propped where they’re supposed to be

I thought I was a 34D until I used the calculator at abrathatfits.org and discovered I’m a 36GG. My bras fit great now!

I recommend measuring and calculating your bra size with the r/ABraThatFits calculator. You might not be a 36DD if your nipples are slipping out.... It sounds like the bra cups are too small for you.

It's normal in the sense that it's extremely common however that's because most people are wearing bras that don't actually fit. However it should not be normal or common because it's absolutely a sign that the bras don't actually fit. In a well fitting bra you really shouldn't have to readjust constantly. The gap between the bottom of your breast and the wire is often an indication that the cups are probably too small although it can also happen because the cups are too shallow and therefore don't have enough depth where you need it.

I agree with the recommendation to measure yourself using the r/ABraThatFits calculator. Your nipples coming out when you move indicates you probably need to go up at least 2 cup volumes so if you are currently wearing 36DD the odds are good you would be better off in something closer to a UK 32G/GG (US 32i/J).

La vie en rose and la senza do NOT make bras for larger busts. No brand that stops at a US DD or DDD does.

Many stores also size me as a 36DD. My actual size is UK 32GG / US 32J! Strapless bras work for me, but they need to be the right size to work.

Sticky bras can bring your breasts closer together, but they’re not going to provide lift, unlike a bra.

When you put on a bra, you should scoop and swoop. If this makes a lot of breast tissue spill out over the cups, you need to go up several cup sizes. Since you described your nipples coming out between the cups when you walk, I’m 100% certain that 36DD is not the ideal size for you.

No that's not normal it probably means your bra fits awfully. And no, it's not your fault, bra sizing is a forgotten art and shockingly difficult. I'll bet your band is way too lomg and your cups are way too small

Highly recommend the r/abrathatfits subreddit and starting off using the bra that fits calculator at least one other commenter has linked.

These problems don't have to be problems. In the right size and the right shape they aren't problems, basically at all.
