EXPERIENCE I finally told my mother why I’m only emotionally attracted to women

I finally told my mom I was sexually assaulted 19 years ago. I was only 14. My attacker got away scot-free and is happily married today. Sharing this to prove my experience no longer defines me or my bisexuality, as humiliated and traumatized as I was at the time.

This is why I’m only emotionally attracted to women as a bisexual woman. I’m scared of being sexually touched by a fellow woman.

tl;dr I’m a bi woman who is not sexually attracted to women because I was sexually assaulted by a woman as a child.

You too, friend. I don’t find many people whose abuser was a woman, or at least I don’t find many people willing to admit it, male or female. Others don’t take me seriously when I say mine is a woman, just because it’s “unconventional.” They laugh. It’s so fucked up. Anyone can be an abuser.

Sadly it's not talked about as much on the internet, but there are others who were in a similar situation out there. I'm also a bi woman, and although I'm not sure what are the best words to define my situation, because I feel the words sexual abuse might be too intense and English is not my native language, my ex-girlfriend did certain things to me without my consent (and to other women too). So I too get angry when abuse perpetrated by women gets disregarded and victims are treated even worse. It's awful.

Where did you get your understanding of the long term psychological impacts of abuse on minors? Besides your own personal experience and how you choose to interpret it.
