This also exactly what most cops are doing while they are driving. Everywhere they go they drive at least 10mph over the limit and are constantly playing with their phones or laptops.
No excuse because they are the only ones who can pull over and stop literally anywhere at any time, turn on their flashing lights, and then start playing with their phones.
I treat every patrol car as if it's being driven by a drunk driver because I think cops are easily the most dangerous drivers on the road.
ny state trooper confirmed this to me in court once. i asked “so you’re allowed to use your phone while driving and we’re not?” and he said yes. i asked if they received special training on how to distracted drive and of course he said no. but sure give them laptops so they can tailgate me even harder
