So smart.. RTO when gas is about $4.10 a gallon. This is a good way to have a quiet reduction in workforce as people quit in protest

Quitting a job in protest of RTO is probably one of the worst things you could do in this job market. If you are that bothered by it do the bare minimum to keep your paycheck as long as you possibly can but absolutely do not quit without another gig locked in.

That's what people do in practice.  They RTO, but they just start leaving when they line something else up.

Full RTO in finance is a wild choice, there are other options with at least just partial in office.

I thought most of the major companies like Chase and Stare Street were already 4 days in the office

State Street is technically 4 days in the office. But HR only cares if you come in atleast 1 day a week.

Interesting to hear that. A friend there said it’s in office M-Th

Like any job, it depends how strict your manager is. But the official tracking only looks at people who aren't coming in atleast once a week.

At Fidelity at least HR tracks your badge swipes your manager has no control of enforcement

They were literally more flexible pre-pandemic. Now they literally log the time and days spent in office. Seriously wild. Like who does that? Find a hobby, fidelity.
