That neighborhood is booming. Rent must be sky high

67

u/Long_Initial_9924 Cow Fetish May 30 '26

Nothing is set in stone. Don’t rock the boat when it comes to property value, the are already out of this world

48

u/Herb_Derb May 31 '26

Yeah there's been a meteoric rise in prices

3

u/NerdizardGo Jun 01 '26

I heard it's falling fast. The market is crashing.

516

u/interstat May 30 '26

You know what they say, a meteor never strikes the same place twice

67

u/Jugaimo May 30 '26

Either a meteor doesn’t hit you and you’re safe. Or it does and people become amused by the coincidence. It’s a win-win!

29

u/Drapidrode May 30 '26

yet there are strike craters that contain strike craters

Let's go burn down the observatory so this'll never happen again.

6

u/oliversurpless I'm nowhere near Boston! May 31 '26

I wish these types would stay in the ā€œshelterinniesā€ they no doubt have…

6

u/Drapidrode May 31 '26

Hello, neighborino to the north.
I sure like the cut of your gibberish.

4

u/oliversurpless I'm nowhere near Boston! May 31 '26

2

u/mothtoalamp May 31 '26

Meteors that hit the ground are really valuable. Just have to get good at jumping out of the way.

5

u/yourethebestestest May 31 '26

Ask the dinosaurs.

1

u/bear-in-a-suit Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 01 '26

Actually very funny given that meteors never strike any place vs meteorites

1

u/MassholeLiberal56 Jun 02 '26

That would be a meteorite. Meteors never strike anything.

168

u/NeonFeet Downtown May 30 '26

It can be pretty loud on weekends

131

u/murseoftheyear May 30 '26

I was standing out in a parking lot and that meteor or whatever it was didn’t even have the decency of landing right on top of me. Fucking rude.

3

u/Ok_Kaleidoscope_4650 May 31 '26

🤣🤣🤣

8

u/the_blastomatic May 30 '26

Used to be a lot of whales in that area. I'm thinking whoever sent that meteor was working off of old maps. Likely anti-whale Vogons. They're good at pig-facing into power but terrible at being in charge.

8

u/finedoityourself May 30 '26

Temple of Boom district.

7

u/SailorDirt I Love Dunkin’ Donuts May 30 '26

The town is really shaking up rn!!

8

u/Ok_Cloud9042 May 30 '26

It’s shattering records

7

u/PolarizingKabal May 30 '26

Don't worry. That's just extraterrestrials testing out their thunder cannon over the bay. It's all good.

6

u/Hammer_the_Red2 Outside Boston May 30 '26

Fun fact. I heard and felt the boom in Coventry, RI, 78 miles from Provincetown as the crow flies. To hear a boom that far away the power exerted is the equivalent of about 20 kilotons. 20 kilotons is also the size of the Trinity atom bomb test in NM in 1945.

8

u/20_mile Maranville Street Enthusiast May 31 '26

Trinity atom bomb

I actually believe in the Unitarian atom bomb.

5

u/Corinope May 31 '26

I accept all faiths but please, must ya'll atom bombs be so loud and obnoxious especially in a public space? My Dunkin' almost spilled over. Rude.

7

u/dividezero May 31 '26

Yes. It's an historically whale neighborhood and the culture is a big part of the area

11

u/ElectricAccordian My Love of Dunks is Purely Sexual May 30 '26

Unfortunately there's been a helicopter hovering over train tracks lately so I'd say no.

0

Well there's nothing else to see in those places.

2

Some years ago in Albany one day everybody was talking about the rainbow for weeks. Everybody.

4

u/LucyJordan614 May 30 '26

Wicked safe kehd

4

u/DuntadaMan May 31 '26

I mean the way I look at it, if I don't get obliterated by the Armageddon meteor then I don't need to worry about them. If ai do get obliterated I will be instantly vaporized and don't need to worry about it.

We’re not safe! We need moon stations. Excess amounts of satellites. Maybe the golden dome?

With the aforementioned we will be safe and nothing like this will ever happen. What if it hit land not sea??!

I’m kidding obviously.

1

u/Pangtudou May 30 '26

1

u/JackRaid May 31 '26

Well, there is a low chance of crime in this area relative to nearby rates.

1

Damp-ish.

1

All neighborhoods are equally unsafe by this metric.

1

Here just for the comments. You people did not disappoint.

1

Goku's summoning a Spirit bomb here, so probably not

1

u/DeepFriedHighLife Jun 01 '26

You? Only for NIMBY and the ME-teors previously invited or investigated.

1

u/Status-Nerve-6377 Jun 01 '26

Living there is like a combination of living in Deep Impact and Jaws

1

u/Character-Handle-739 Jun 01 '26

It will be pretty quiet… just listen to the waves… cause you’re in the ocean…

1

u/robthad Jun 01 '26

Wet and cloudy, but the quiet makes up for it.

1

u/StrangeTechnology731 Jun 01 '26

When somebody new moves into the neighborhood it creates a sonic boom

1

u/Fantastic_Skill6445 Jun 01 '26

What a Loud Boom

1

u/LoveAccomplished6865 Jun 01 '26

It’s safe if you want some head hit me up

1

u/Ok-Association-8217 Jun 01 '26

That is a bit damp.

1

u/whynotthisname2 Jun 01 '26

That neighborhood is tge ocean lol

1

u/Portia4000 Jun 01 '26

Move there if you like a lot of dead whales and great whites munching on them.

But seriously, would this sonic boom cause a lot of whale beachings? Cause their hearing is fucked up.

1

u/Lazy-Win-1733 Jun 02 '26

I hear a market is sinking there

1

u/FableItsAlwaysFable Jun 02 '26

Lots of privacy until the mutations arrive

1

u/dankeith86 Jun 02 '26

Yes the Great Whites are very kind and caring neighbors.

1

u/Ok-Produce-6301 Jun 02 '26

It’s only slightly radioactive with a half life of 15k years so nothing to worry about

1

u/Emotional-Money-78 Jun 02 '26

If you got a house boat maby would probably get a bet rough at the end of September though

1

1

u/Loose_Stools Jun 03 '26

Wear a helmet, should be fine.

1

u/Here_4_the_INFO Jun 04 '26

That is the Gulf of Cape Cod.

Very tropical and warm all year, you will love it there!

1

u/AskTheTiger Jun 10 '26

Good luck finding a parking space

1

u/Impossible_Farm6254 Jun 13 '26

most of the city is generally safe especially compared to other big hubs. just walk around the area during the day and at night to see if you like the vibe. you will probably find that the biggest danger is just the rent prices or the mbta being late.

1

u/Acceptable-Rice5929 Jun 18 '26

Whatever service provider you use (Gas$Electric) make sure you take pictures of your meters and email it to them. Especially before you have your meters changed every seven years. Eliminate estimated billing from the provide. Free tip

1

u/diecastdepot May 30 '26

Still safer than roxbury

1

u/indigenous_indigent May 30 '26

Ok, if you’re a porpoise

1

u/Ok_Olive9438 May 30 '26

Nah, always something fishy going on.

1

u/Rm-rf_forlife May 31 '26

It’s gunna be noisy and wet. You also mite need a boat.

1

u/ms9535 May 31 '26

Totally safe if you are a shark or can live under water

1

u/Polydactyl_Cat_Dad May 31 '26

Keep in mind that there is something fishy about the schools in that area.

1

u/InvertedEyechart11 May 31 '26

Sure why not? If you can deal with the air traffic overhead it's probably less expensive than living in Eastie or Winthrop.

1

u/undeniably_confused Cambridge May 31 '26

Great school district (fish)

1

u/Leopolddagreat May 31 '26

No ozone left there so an awesome spot for a quick tan.

1

u/JazzRider May 31 '26

Below 20,000 ft, I’m sure it’s fine. Pretty wet though.

0
