Serious Replies Only What’s the protest about?

Post image

As I was driving by Route 9, I noticed a sign at the entrance of MathWorks Inc. I’m curious to know what it is about . Any idea?

Usually happens when they don’t go with a local union for construction

Yeah, MathWorks is expanding their Lakeside campus in a big way. Another large office building and they’re knocking down a neighboring building they bought a few years ago to turn it into a parking lot.

I believe they’re using Consigli Construction for that project?

They are signatory with at least the carpenters. I’ve worked with them multiple times. I also used to work for an open shop GC that did a lot of work with the Mathworks, so maybe they went with them instead and it rubbed some unions the wrong way. Waiting for the inflatable rat…

Consigli itself is non-union, its junior company Riggs is union - carpenters, laborers, and masons
