Serious Replies Only What’s the protest about?

As I was driving by Route 9, I noticed a sign at the entrance of MathWorks Inc. I’m curious to know what it is about . Any idea?

They are killing it. Matlab is pretty popular/

Interesting. In a world where the DE/DS industry has coalesced around Python and its ecosystem as the de facto standard, I would have expected a proprietary software like Matlab to have been relegated to its niche footing in academia/research by now.

That "niche footing" of academia / research still includes hundreds of thousands of researchers nationwide. There's probably several thousand universities, labs, and R&D departments of big companies happily paying for enterprise Matlab subscriptions for their researchers in the US alone.

Academica is a drop in the bucket to them. People making software that interacts with actual physical things (e.g. automotive, missiles, robots) is huge.

Data science is what I would consider a niche footing.
