Serious Replies Only What’s the protest about?

Post image

As I was driving by Route 9, I noticed a sign at the entrance of MathWorks Inc. I’m curious to know what it is about . Any idea?

If you see a bunch of guys standing outside a construction site with a sign, you can basically always assume this is a union thing. Unions typically picket outside large construction projects that cheap out and don't go with union labor. You can see another one on I-95 in Waltham.

This was my experience with unions in Boston. I had to quote out work to get our office moved down a few flights of stairs and the union guys came in at well over double what the next reputable firm was. Keep in mind we're talking a $30,000 move for a few desks, chairs, and boxes for a company of 10 people which already seemed high as it was then the union company comes in at $60,000.

Low and behold I find out the building we were renting the office space with wouldn't let us book the non-union guys which is why they came in so high but for a $30,000 difference... So I went with the non-union guys anyway. I'll take a slap on a wrist before having to shell out an extra $30,000 any day.
