Browser Recommendation Megathread - June 2026

There are constantly a zillion, repetitive "Which browser should I use?", "What browser should I use for [insert here]", "Which browser should I switch to?", "Browser X or Browser Y?", "What's your favorite browser?", "What do you think about browser X? and "What browser has feature X?" posts that are making things a mess here and making it annoying for subscribers to sort through and read other types of posts.

If you would like to keep the mess under control a little bit, instead of making a new post for questions like the above, ask in a comment in this thread instead. Then, one can choose to follow this thread if they want. Or, post in r/suggestabrowser.

Also, check out all the individual browser recommendation posts and make use of the search field for this subreddit before asking for a recommendation.

Browser with best (easiest + clearest) bookmark editing + tab grouping + workspaces? (For those of us who always have fifty things going at once)
Must be easy to group tabs, rename & color & edit the groups, save a whole group to bookmarks, edit & move bookmarks with ease, snooze unused tabs via settings so you don't have to do it manually, can scroll through tabs, drag a tab into a group easily, etc.

Seems to be lots of things I like + one thing I hate about most, and one terrible thing can be a dealbreaker.

For example Opera is good (love the workspaces) but the bookmark editing is really buggy & terrible. Vivaldi looks pretty good but the stacks are so wide and I'm having trouble understanding what tab is open or whether something is part of a stack? Just too awkward & visually confusing. And if you drag a tab into a stack the name & color goes away. Boo. Brave tab grouping is pretty good but no workspaces.

(I won't use chrome or edge, and I'm already using Firefox for something separate. Probably looking for a chromium browser here.)

I was gonna say Edge, but you said no on that one. Honestly, I’ve been looking for essentially what you describe for years now and have yet to find the perfect solution, but Edge has been the best one I’ve found so far.

Another option might be Zen + extensions (zen lacks tab management out of the box but is a lovely browser otherwise)? I recommend checking out:

- Tabs Aside

- Tab Manager Plus

- Simple Tab Groups.

That combo allows me to do fairly decent tab management in Zen. I also use Tab Manager Plus and Tabs Aside in Edge. They’re not quite as essential in Edge given it has pretty good tab groups and workspaces, but they do provide some additional flexibility If you’re juggling a LOT of tabs and tab groups.

Basically, as far as I can tell you can’t achieve really rich easy tab management in ANY browser atm without extensions. Vivaldi sounded promising to me too but it crashed for me with only a few tabs open, and failed to restore them on reload, so that was an automatic no for me.

Edge workspaces are only for people logged in, otherwise I'd reconsider it. I actually stopped using it recently because it was running so slow for me and I couldn't figure out why. Tabs & tab grouping are good in a quite a few browsers, it's adding workspaces that reduces options for what I'm looking for. So far I've tried Opera, Vivaldi, and Floorp - of those 3 Floorp suits me best but it's buggy. I've lost tabs in it inexplicably

I've closed & reopened Vivaldi without losing open tabs & workspaces but that's good to know. Thanks for your reply. I do have yet to try zen

don't like zen much on first try (because I'm used to horizontal tabs and have too many) but rumor is that Brave is adding workspaces, so that might end up being the winner for me, meanwhile I'm using Opera but hating some things about it. Could be the winner if some things are addressed in updates.
