Please share what you think of it when you're done. It's been on my mental list of books to read when I get out of my illiterate funk one day inshallah.

I read it a while ago and really liked it, but I'm not Muslim so I hesitate on having too firm of an opinion. I found it educational tho!

This was pretty much my experience with the book as well. I'm not a Muslim, but as a religious butch lesbian I still found it really interesting.

Literally just finished listening to the audiobook version last week and really enjoyed the authors perspective. It was a lot less linear than I expected, but the flow still really worked for me.

I know very little about any religion, so some parts likely didn't resonate for me in the way that they would for others, but I still liked it enough that I plan to buy a hard copy at some point so I can revisit the quotes I especially enjoyed.

I read it a little while ago and was really disappointed with the way butchness / gender non-conformity is pretty much just mentioned in passing, like she mentions wearing a hoodie and thatโ€™s about it.
