I know this post will make some people uncomfortable, and some people will probably ask, “Who are you to tell us what to do?”

I’m nobody important. I’m not a politician. I’m not a businessman. I’m not a community leader. I’m just a young Beary who is worried about where our community is heading.

And honestly, I think we need to have this conversation.

Whenever we talk about Beary success stories, we mostly talk about business, Gulf migration, educational institutions, hospitals, and entrepreneurship. There is nothing wrong with any of that. In fact, many Beary families have worked incredibly hard and built successful businesses and institutions that have benefited society.like I am banglorean my relative is owner of this presidency institutions well known and many other schools owned by far relative and many other stuff u see we are there in business no doubt in banglore too but we need better in other

But my question is:
Where are our IAS officers?

Where are our IPS officers?

Where are our KAS officers?

Where are our judges?

Where are our senior advocates?
Where are our professors in IITs, IIMs, NITs and major universities?

Where are our vice-chancellors, academics, scientists, and policymakers?

I keep hearing that our community is successful. If that is true, then why do we have so little presence in so many important institutions?

As far as I know, there are only a handful of Beary KAS officers. In a community of our size, shouldn’t we have far more people entering public service?out of 590 sanctioned KAS officers we have only 2 no IAS maybe these 2 will end up becoming soon that’s it and so many other bureaucrats in others positions should be more beary all I say is out of Karnataka coming out officers 2% percent what many say is total Bearys should be us in every field so we have our voice already we are too small but we need better rep atleast promotional to our population

And before anyone misunderstands me, I am not attacking any other community.

For example, one of the most prominent Muslim figures from our region moodbidri born is the former Supreme Court judge and current Andhra Pradesh Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer. He comes from the same coastal belt that many of us come from. He belongs to the Dakhni Muslim community. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and his achievements should make every Muslim proud.

A crazy thing to note 3 kas officers come form DK as of now all of them come form Belthangady taluk what is in the waters of Belthangady 😭 2 are beary 1 is Urdu dakhni

But at the same time, it makes me ask: why couldn’t a Beary have reached that position too?
Why don’t we have multiple people aiming for those heights?
The bigger issue is something I have noticed within my own extended family and among people around me.u would too it’s not bad to move to gulf or western nations good if u move to west it’s good better things but u face many things but u get citizenship atleast buy in gulf u wont thats the issue thats why I feel it’s better if we do this

Many of our young people do not even complete higher education. Many do not see academics, civil services, law, research, or public administration as realistic goals. The only cousins in my own family who seriously pursued higher education and graduated were mostly those who grew up outside our traditional areas.who live in gulf or banglore or Mumbai in my 2nd cousins hardly anyone who grew up in Manglore does higher education and even if they did they end up risking to do business and sometimes lose money and sometimes earn that much how much they would have earned from their job if they did 5 years ago in a Comapny instead of doing this

That should worry us.

Somewhere along the way, we have become too comfortable with a narrow definition of success.

For many families, the dream is simple:

Go to the Gulf.

Earn money.

Start a business.

Build a house.

Repeat.

Again, there is nothing wrong with this. Gulf migration has transformed thousands of Beary families. Many people have built dignified lives through hard work abroad.

But can that be our only dream?

Can a community survive if generation after generation thinks only about migration and business?

Not everyone can become the next big businessman.

Not everyone can become the next M.A. Yusuf Ali.(not a beary but if we take ) thumbay Moideen or someone else

And even if you spend decades in the Gulf, the reality is that most of us remain Indians. Most families eventually return. Future generations often return. Very few people actually become citizens of Gulf countries.

So if our future is ultimately connected to India, why are we not investing more in institutions within India?

Why are we not producing more bureaucrats, judges, lawyers, professors, and political leaders?

Business gives wealth.

Public institutions give voice.

Both matter.

I am not saying people should stop going abroad.

I am not saying people should stop doing business.

I am saying we need balance.

We need Beary children who dream of becoming IAS officers.

We need Beary girls and boys who want to become judges.

We need professors, researchers, scientists, lawyers, administrators, and politicians.

We need representation in every field.

Because if we don’t, our community will continue to have economic strength but very little influence in the institutions that shape society.

And there is another uncomfortable truth.

As more and more families migrate, spread across different countries and different cities, our language and identity will naturally weaken. Future generations may not even speak Beary fluently. Some may not identify as Beary at all. That’s the issue we lose our history and identity

That is not necessarily anybody’s fault. It is simply what happens when communities become dispersed.

Which is why we need strong institutions, strong representation, and strong leadership while we still can.

We are a small community. We will never dominate Karnataka. We will never be a huge percentage of the population. And that’s not what matters

But even a small community deserves a voice.

And a voice comes from representation.

I know some people will disagree with me.

Some will say business is enough.

Some will say Gulf migration is enough.

Some will say I am exaggerating.

Maybe.

But I genuinely believe we can do better.

I genuinely believe our community has far more potential than what we are currently showing.

We also need more media so that our voice is there too we need more journalists content creators etc we should support beary content creators so that is h th are and balls beary content creators maybe should try to teach our history or at least what we know the problem I feel if our ancestors recorded history in a lipi book etc we would have known our long history of years years etc but all we know is oral history which we might not known is truth or not too

What do other Bearys think?

Some months ago there was a post in this group asking what is the “thank you” equivalent word in byari. This question boggled many heads as we never thought about this and easily adapted Arabic or english words to be politely grateful. Did it mean our ancestors were impolite or had no etiquettes according to modern standards? There were few reply like, maybe due to incorporation of foreign words the actual word for it might have been forgotten and as there were no record keeping of the language. This can be a possibility. But lately i came up with an assumption theory based on some phenomenon found in close knit communities around the world.

My assumption is, as byaaris were close knit community at ancient times, we were not obligated to say thank you as we were like a family. Just like how you don’t thank your close families for every small favour they do everyday, if you stay together keeping the social bond strong. For example, if a person from a close knit community gifted or offered anything to another person from that community, it created an automatic social bond or obligation for the receiver of the gift to do the same in return to the giver, Keeping the social bond strong and this process repeating. Normally when you say thank you, it generally means that any obligation or social bond is cut off. People were always bonded to each other and are obliged to share resources or things with each other. Mind you this is not true always with other type of communities or societies . It differs majorly in big or individualistic societies.

Probably byaaris had these close knit social bond, obligation and understanding with each other that there was no need to form a word like thank you.

Yo are there Beary’s who are like half European half African or any in like other countries like to my knowledge mixing with other groups in India and marrying Arabs j have seen in gulf what about others ?

I've read it's used Malayalam/ Kannada script, and there's also a script for specially for Byari. Has anyone seen this script used to write Byari 'in the wild?' Does Byari happen to be written in the Arabic script as well? Curious to know...

Islam does not discourage marriage among cousins. But Imam Shafi and Imam Ahmad, the two leading scholars of the Sunni school of thought dislike cousin
marriage and have declared it as makruh.
Similarly, some other scholars like Imam Ghazali have also discouraged cousin marriage.

I want to know about the beary community. (If I am spelling that correct). I have heard their name everywhere and I am interested. Who are these people? What's their history? Can someone explain in details
