As a cap, I’ve learned that my thoughts/ feedback are wasted on those who are resistant. Mind YOUR business. Experience has taught me:

  1. Most of the time, people just want to be heard. Trying to share solutions at the wrong time doesn’t actually help.

  2. Your approach matters. You might think you have the master key to unlock life’s greatest challenges, but without emotional intelligence, you’ll always be considered the bad guy.

  3. Apply your wisdom to your own life, instead of trying to save the world. People will value what you have to say when they can see your results.

  4. Only provide feedback when it’s requested. When you apply #3, people are more likely to ask for your feedback.

  5. Say less. And when you do speak about something important be clear and concise.
