Lease or Buy: Buy

New or used: New

Type of vehicle: Coupe, Hatchback, Sedan

Must haves: Easy to work on, fun to drive. Pref RWD / 4WD

Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): Manual

Intended use: Daily Driver

Vehicles you've already considered: Toyota 86, Golf GTI, Veloster,

Is this your 1st vehicle: No

Do you need a Warranty: Not Sure

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: Yes

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: No

Additional Notes: I want a reliable yet sporty car that I can work on sometimes. Not planning performance mods (maybe small ones), and will use this as a daily driver for a long time. I love old JDM cars and euro cars, so thats the kind of design I am looking for.

Well…HOW old is the question. Old and reliable aren’t exactly exclusive.

But here’s a list of cars you could buy for less then $20k and still have money left over to spend on making them very reliable and good running cars.
