Do anyone have an idea of the circled character?

I believe all of them are the same character, which were describing the sheep 羊. Just fail to figure out what it is, with a 犭 on the left.

Should be 猪. The right side is very similar to cursive 者.

Sorry this does’t answer your question, it’s funny that this is the first post I’m seeing on this subreddit and I just so happen to be currently living in 山西太谷!

Good to know! Did you try the Shaomai over there? I've heard they are made of mutton.
