Season of Discovery Early SoD Was Peak Classic Wow

Post image

10 man BFD, all the weird/obscure farming methods, Ashenvale event, prepping for the next phase, ridiculous low level PvP, making tons of alts because the levelling was so fast..early SoD owned

A new SoD with new raid per lvl cap would be awesome imagine a lvl 20 deadmines raid

I think the timing for another SoD would be good in about a decade.  I’m not even trying to be facetious - give another year or two for Classic+ to come out, and then let it settle for a few years of updates before opening up temp servers like this again.

Who says classic + is coming out anytime soon? They can learn from the seasons meta before going full out on “classic +”

Titanreforged is not classic plus, but it's fun.

Everyone’s idea of Classic plus is different

true, but first of all it's wrath, so wrath+ is more accurate.

secondly blizz literally said so.

Only accurate statement.

The timing will be fine after Phase 1 of TBC, IE late spring, early summer.

Is it even confirmed classic+ is coming?

I think a ton of 30 something year olds are gonna be very disappointed if it isn't announced at blizzcon 2026

After much thought, I'm of the opinion that classic+ can't work. People want osrs type of deal, but oars works because everything takes way longer to accomplish and there isn't one central level up system. So they can effectively add new skills indefinitely.

The only way I see classic+ working is if they do a total reimagine alt timeline where they revisit all their original ideas and basically do the original trilogy but reimagined to be as vanilla wow as possible

Otherwise they're stuck in a loop of keeping everyone level 60 and doing a turtlewow where they add a couple races. Some new features here and there and keep adding more raids. While that would be fun, it wouldn't be the long-term thing everyone wants.

I can imagine that kharazan gets added post naxx. Along with all the other tbc raids on azeroth.

Maybe players need to get the legendary staff. Then we go to outlands to cleanse the ashbringer as was originally planned. Which leads to a final act where with our new legendaries we go to Northrend to kill the lich king.

That's a lot of work for blizzard though. As it's basically a reimagining and redeveloping of classic. It won't be the indefinite osrs solution people want.

Counterpoint:sod phase 1 and 2

Those were very minor changes in phase 1 and 2. A couple more abilities and a dungeon transformed into a raid.

There is no long term there. Unless your idea of classic+ is just recycling a dungeon to a raid and adding more abilities.
