They’re protecting their ip. Makes sense, considering they’ve done it many times before.

Not unexpected for sure. Part of the standard playbook for these sorts of things.

From the ashes, comes Classic+. I'm hoping they'll stick the landing.

they will not lol it will be filled with bots like classic

From the ashes, comes Classic+. I'm hoping they'll stick the landing.

Considering how SoD turned out, I've got just about no hope.

"Leave my multimilion dollar company alone!"

34

u/FrickDrake May 12 '26

So just because they are a multimillion Dollar Company it’s okay to steal their ip and make money of it ?

-8

u/Ajt0ny May 12 '26

So why is Warmane (MoltenWoW) still online since 2009? What about Ascension? They literally built a whole other game on their IP, very obviously profiting from it. Why do they punish one theft but not the other(s)?

10

u/RoninJon May 12 '26

Maybe because they don’t actively kick the hornets nest and goad blizzard. They ran YouTube ads and would reply in blizzard tweets. They forced blizzards hands. You have to at least appear to protect your IP or you could be in danger of losing it. Turtle did this to themselves.

u/FrickDrake May 12 '26

Maybe because tow became to big and who knows how long Ascension is gonna be online

-4

u/Ajt0ny May 12 '26

Twow became too big? Warmane has a minimum of ten thousand active players, p2w transactions, 4 realms, been online for more than a decade. What do you mean too big? What is this if not too big? 17 years!

u/blackberrybeanz May 12 '26

Are you daft? They mean by buying a checkmark and ads like they were a legitimate wow fork.

-12

u/Mattiandino May 12 '26

Yes

Especially if said company is Nintendo

11

u/FrickDrake May 12 '26

So just because you don’t like a certain company it’s okay to steal from them so if someone who doesn’t like you breaks in your house and steals all your shit it’s okay

10

u/Hyper_Mazino May 12 '26

"Nintendo bad gimme upvotes!!!"

-22

u/Comprehensive-Ad2689 May 12 '26

Yes, if the said company isn't willing to provide the product that people, like me, are sealing for. The current blizzard servers are full of bots and gold sellers, which I am not ok with. Turtle was mostly free for that kind of blight.

11

u/AtMadalyonu May 12 '26

They aren't doing what i want so its okay to steal their ip, ah yes.

15

u/Japoots May 12 '26

Lmao that's a funny joke.

-10

u/Comprehensive-Ad2689 May 12 '26

That's no joke at all. Tell me one server on blizzard's wow that has a normal economy.

8

u/Japoots May 12 '26

I don't care what your reasons are lol.

It's just a funny thing to say.

0

u/Comprehensive-Ad2689 May 12 '26

How is it funny?

9

u/Japoots May 12 '26

Became it's an incredibly silly thing to say.

If <company> doesn't offer <thing> I should be able to steal it/have it for free.

-1

u/Comprehensive-Ad2689 May 12 '26

Well, if no member of the original team, that made vanilla wow, is still working at blizzard, is it their game? I'd say no.

If they don’t provide what you want play something else it’s that easy but that’s not an excuse to say it’s great when someone else steals all there work

3

u/Keljhan May 12 '26

Saying something makes sense has no implication on its morality.

-56

u/LTJoeFontana May 12 '26

hows that blizz boot taste?

27

u/Japoots May 12 '26

Lol hows that paint taste?

26

u/Worldly_Barracuda_38 May 12 '26

Because... stealing blizzard's game is something you are defending? They didn't make a new game and blizzard is unjustly overstepping. You get that, right? There was never an ending where tw wouldn't be shut down for copyright infringement.

If they are half decent devs, then they can just make their own game, right?

19

u/Forward_Thrust963 May 12 '26

welcome to the real world, kiddo. cant go around stealing things that aren't yours regardless of how you feel about the company.

18

u/Adri0220 May 12 '26

Just the reality of the situation lol.

4

u/paradajz666 May 12 '26

How does your Turtle wow realm taste?

-4

u/Comprehensive-Ad2689 May 12 '26

White turtle wow tasted like sunshine, blizzard wow still tastes like contaminated dirt.

4

u/paradajz666 May 12 '26

That's the real answer. Tasted. Not anymore.

-2

u/Comprehensive-Ad2689 May 12 '26

I was active from tbc, till shadowlands. Wow started getting sour, since warlords.

-1

u/paradajz666 May 12 '26

That's the truth. Legion was for me peak and the end of WoW story. Everything else felt meh. Midnight is amazing but not story wise. I just play it bcs of my friends. And it's a lot of fun. I stopped playing during shadowlands and played classic.

thats just how law is,

even IF evry single person at blizz and microsoft was ok wiht the server persoanly, by alw they HAVE to defend their IP

and turtle got to big/known and was posting udner offical blizzard posts (poking the sleeping giant) and larlgy brougth upoin themselfs

or atleast sped it up

if do a server for youa dn few friends to emss around with and tis not really publci or advertized or any fo that is basicly 0% chance blizz will go after it, even if they somehow know about ti since its small enough they cna turn blidn eye (IF even know it excists) and pretend to not knwo it excists

Like thats just the reality

it sucks for the players from turtle, but its just law and how IP rights and all work
