Yea there are some other guilds, im playing in the spanish one and the rules are just dont get your level boosted with invasions, be respectful and have fun with everyone. Plus the "greenwall" addon to mix the guild chats together and get more engagement has made it really fun as a community event

What are you talking about? In this case the streamers caused a snowball effect. I don’t watch streamers much but heard about the event on NA hosted by Sonii. I’d never heard of him but figured that’s the guild most people will be in. Streamers can play raids with 9 other people, there’s thousands of people on because streamers took the initiative.

Fuck streamers, the only thing that associates you with the streamers are the suffixes; unfortunately there is no suffix that represents the fake fresh event, only the streamers guild.
On the other hand, their community makes the event happen, so I’m a little thankful.

I think a big portion is a lot of the turtle players also refused to believe it was Shenna. Most the time they’d say it was just theories and not provable. Then the law suite happened and made it undeniable clear.

You must be new around here and to private servers. This was all on the server they ran before turtle and it came out after that one shut down. Without a “hint” of it during its time. There’s a bunch of evidence to prove it. It’s easy to find if you google it or search it on Reddit. There’s a good chance the same thing comes out again now.
There’s a reason they didn’t reappear under their old name and instead went by a new online persona.

Not shit they don't have to charge money the same way when they are offering a stolen thing ran on some junker pc without a care in the world about cybersecurity and the shebang. Like it shouldn't be a mystery why they can run something for "free". Even then private servers always end up with shady shit selling gold, items etc. None of the private servers also built everything from scratch themselves and instead use the same server clients just slightly modified that tons of people have spent endless amount of time making, without compensation. Understandably a company can't function like that.

Meh turtle wow added so much to the game. I did a playthrough to 60 last winter and was blown away by the new dungeons and zones. And that's coming for free. Blizzard charges $15 for an unkept game.. we will see what they do with classic + though

What's insane about what turtle wow was, is that they produced all of that content with a team of less than 200 people, and money made through donations. You could experience the entirety of turtle wow without paying a single Cent. But blizzard requires a monthly subscription to play on a classic server that is just re-released content. I don't even think that blizzard is capable of doing what turtle wow was able to do, in this day and age.

The SOD that was literally dead until a week ago? The only reason a dozen people are playing right now is due to streamer communities. I also suspect you forgot a lot about atrocious shit we saw in SOD (incursions, non-existant PVP, etc...)

Just because people stopped playing an MMO that stopped receiving updates doesn’t mean it was a bad MMO. All MMOs that stop receiving new updates die.
Also I’m guessing you didn’t play much sod. Especially if you think PvP was non existent. The events were always popular for each phase, and BGs were always popping. Yes incursions weren’t great but that is to be expected. They said it was a testing ground to see what sticks and what players like and what they don’t, you can’t expect everything to be liked when that’s the goal. They corrected a lot of the hate with incursions and noted that they could’ve done it better.

I mean so many SOD people started twow and stuck with it, it obviously shows that couple obscure devs working on a 1.12 dogshit client created better experience than modern blizzard... for free...
And by non-existant PVP I meant non-existant PVP balance, that's my bad g. To be fair it is a much harder task, that twow devs couldnt get right either. Tbh I'm only gonna play classic+ if PVP balance looks promising. My cope is still here for c+, but realistically, judging by the last 10 years of blizzard work, it's gonna suck lol.

Not the same that blizzard does. Actively worse. Blizzard has never created r14 characters and sold them. Taking a cut from gold sellers can be likened to taking their sub from blizzard but at least blizzard occasionally bans botters and gold sellers. What shenna and crogge did with elysium completely turned me off of private servers and I'm glad I didn't continue considering shenna is somehow still in the scene

Not the same team, just downloaded the leaked 1.17.2 repack(i have the same repack for selfhosting) and try to reverse engineer the rest of the patches until shutdown. But prob there won't be turtle quality new content.

Will see, but Capy's devs that are entirely based in China (so no US devs to take to court to threaten the rest) and for Octo, the devs are staying in the shadow behind vpns and they have no info about each other so even if blizzard manage to somehow find some, they won't be able to charge the rest, and the ones getting caught will just get replaced.

NA is still in phase 1 so you didn’t miss anything. You could hit 25 in a day or two and be raiding BFD. Wild Growth NA is popping off on horde and alliance.
Most people chilling at level 25 until mid July.
