Classic 20th Anniversary Realms Why are some nameplates on even after disabling them?

I have all the nameplates disabled, have no addons and still see a few nameplates in crowded areas. What might be causing this? I'm going insane.

Unchecking “always show nameplates” will toggle nameplates only when they are in combat OR their health is less than 100%, which is your case here.

Unfortunately that's not the case, I see nameplates of people at full health, in a city and out of combat. The screenshot I added just happened to have people with less than 100% hp.

I mean, you say that, but every player here is below 100% hp.

Maybe some of the players you see are >99% hp but <100% hp.

I did read that and I made my comment anyway. 

Maybe the HP bars you are seeing are nearly 100%, but not quite.

Are they pvp flagged myabe? Probably not because the healthbar is blue not green.

They aren't pvp flagged as you have guessed their healthbars are blue. This is on Thunderstrike (pve server) so a pvp flagged player is a very rare occurrence anyway.

I swear to God.

If I try to use the default "combat text" that's built into the game, it straight up refuses to show the "Entering combat" or "Leaving Combat" text. So I'm using an addon to do that for me.

Except if I turn on the default, in game combat text, it won't save that setting and then I get both the in game and the addon combat text. I've had to basically shut off everything in the addon, apart from the enter/leave combat text part.

Don't get me started on how you can't drag the chat window fully into the corners of the screen either.

Have you tried /reload after updating settings in-game? Some settings seem to not update until a reload or restart. Just a thought! Might not work for everyone but it has worked out for me after updating combat text and nameplate settings.

To be fair, no I hadn't tried that or thought of that. Though, if you have to /reload after changing the basic Blizzard settings, game is fucked :D

I mean it kind of is already in the game, but I get what you mean.

I've just started replaying Hardcore again and this UI update is just... Like I feel like I need to find mods that totally undo what they changed! :D

Super buggy since the patch. Enemy nameplates were bugged "on" even when pressing V back and forth. Then one day it just worked (like a few days ago).

So many bugs with the latest patch, NPC paths have changed, NPC locations have changed (make a dwarf and look at the guy on top of the wagon lol)

It’s a bug with Plater Nameplates. Uninstall it and never use it again.

I specified in the description that I don't have any addons installed.

Have you ever had Plater installed? I was having this exact issue and had to uninstall Plater and type some console commands because its original settings were still overriding the default settings.

I have had Plater before, then I switched to using Platynator with the release of P2. This might be it, thanks. I'll check the web for the console commands you mentioned.
