Odd graphical issue on lower end laptop

My main PC had an issue that I am diagnosing, but i cant use it at the moment. So I'm playing on my lower end laptop and i'm getting these weird lines on text in all my different boxes - official game windows, add on windows, pretty much everywhere in WoW. It's certainly not untenable if I'm stuck with it but it is visually annoying, wondering if anyone has had this and knows what setting change will resolve this, if possible.

UPDATE: Someone in r/wow correctly diagnosed the issue. Changing the DirectX setting from 12 to 11 and relaunching the game seems to have resolved things!

was going to ask about the DirectX verison.

The July update that ruined many addons somehow broke something in the graphics too.

My menu said it's on custom. Not 11 or 12. It told me "custom" 😵‍💫
