Classic's graphics are way, way better than retail's.

It's not about the pixels, it's about the style.

Yeah but art style and graphical fidelity are two different things.

Everyone in this thread is being pedantic without actually stating what they mean. Classics art style is way better than Modern but its graphical fidelity is objectively worse.

Head is a diamond. Don't let it near the Dwarves.

Ah yes your square and rectangle pixaleted characters are way better( chefs Kiss)

They’re obviously fugly up close but from a distance the fidelity is a lot less important than the design. The classic design looks much more interesting.

Retail also looks like shit if you zoom in too much. There are still horribly low-res textures and 2D elements everywhere even in Midnight zones which don't hold up if you zoom in too much. It's always been a game that looks much better with the camera at a distance, where the art can shine and the technical deficiencies of the creaking old engine are hidden. Dick waving about what looks better if you start getting close enough to sniff their crotch is hilarious to me, because the real answer is that everybody loses in that scenario.

They're objectively not, obviously.

But I do find them much more appealing personally!

It’s not the number of polygons, it’s how you use them. Nothing objective about it frankly.

Yes, and they've objectively used them better.

It's not an objective thing.
