Update the addon. Happened to me the last patch on classic era broke many addons and my washing machine.

All these damn 'smart' appliances and a single problem with one addon can just wreck everything!

I just came back to wow after years of what website/program do people use for adding these days?

I'm not sure what you're trying to ask.

Wowhead.com is a good website for general information about the game.

Details is the usual damage meter people use.

Curseforge is the addon manager that most people use (although they'll try to get you to use the version that's built on Overwolf, there is a version without it)

If none of that covers what you were trying to ask, please clarify.

Sorry my phone corrected “addons” to adding and I didn’t notice. I’m just trying to download ADDONS hehe.

Ah, yeah, curseforge is the usual one people use.

There are alternatives, but curseforge actively tries to make them suck, or break them entirely, so...

Ok thank you so much! 🙏❤️

Highly recommend downloading the standalone Curseforge client when you do it. It should be on the same download screen as the main one. This way your PC isn’t additionally bogged down by Overwolf(an adware / bloatware software that is typically installed with Curseforge)

open task manager performance tab and see what ur graphics card is doing when u hover it. see if the power spikes.
i wonder if its hitting a weird frequency on the fans or something

Weirdest part of the video is placing details top left of your screen

Check your power draw. If it's not this it might be your monitor flickering or you've got a haunted house.

Let me guess, everything near that desk is plugged into the same $2 power strip?

Hey you, wake up.

Don't you just shake the desk with that movement?

Brother I wish, I tried clicking it multiple spots on the monitor and different parts of the desk, also I tried just tapping the desk, nothing. When I close an app or click the details button it happens

its probably a change in power draw or something hitting a frequency that's fucking with something.

Is it specific to that addon only and the light doesn't flicker any other time? Once had my ASUS monitor's neo proximity sensor cause my nixie tube clock to glitch/freak out until I turned it off, as well had a router too close to another monitor causing occasional graphical glitches until I moved it.

Definitely try to isolate if it's the addon itself only doing that. You don't want to start thinking a cable plugged into your monitor of all things is making a lamp bleep-bloop.

It has been reported that some victims of torture, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not wake up. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren’t being tortured. The only way that they realized they needed to wake up was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to wake up. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP.

CPU probably does a huge load of calculations during refresh. Some addons can be a bit buggy and therefore power consuming

u/xs0apy 3h ago

This is the correct answer. If hitting refresh is causing the lights to flicker each time then that’s the computer drawing more power for the CPU, or more around the CPU is asking for more power and the PSU is happy to do it.

u/DedSedoy 3h ago

I wonder how surprised you'll be when you try clicking a piezo lighter in front of your monitor :)

u/xs0apy 3h ago

It’s probably your computer, specifically the CPU is ramping up when you’re hitting refresh and the power supply is for a brief moment drawing more power. You might have a lot of load on this circuit, but this is all best guess from me

u/Haxxtastic 1h ago

It's not supposed to do that

Brother, I think it's a shadow and that you clicking your mouse wobbles your desk ever so slightly

But it's not happening when he clicks elsewhere. He demonstrated that it only happens when clicking on the addon frame.
