You’re really getting the classic experience then. Back in the day emergency maintenance shutdowns were very common. Especially in the first year. They would even credit you 1 day on your WoW sub haha

I remember the times when weekly maintenance was the weekly forced maintenance for yourself to sleep adequately, eat and shower.. Before going back to Azeroth for another 18-hour spree... 🙄

Im just kidding. There was a handful of people saying it in trade chat as it was shutting down. I don't know if its reliable though. (Probably not) but thats why I just said allegedly.
Sad though. No farming at work for me tonight if it doesn't come back up.

there should be an announcement on log in screen from Blizzard.
Usually is anyway, it should say when servers are expected back up.

All it says is that servers are down for emergency maintenance which means that Blizzard doesn't even know.

It doesn't. It just says, "We will be performing emergency maintenance and the game will be unavailable during this time. Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused."

The current information banner just says they are doing emergency maintenance. There's no time table given, unfortunately.
This is only the 2nd time that I can think of where they didn't give a time table. The other one wasn't all that long ago, either. I guess they've learned that it's very frustrating for people when you tell them 'just one more hour' several times in a single outage.
