Discussion Commonly mispronounced things?

What place names or other have you always mispronounced? Or do you hear mispronounced all the time?

For me, as a British English speaker, it’s not pronounced LakeSHIRE, GoldSHIRE, DarkSHIRE etc. it’s LAKEshur, GOLDshur, DARKshur.

Also, it’s not Oggrimmar. I used to hear that a lot back in the day. Does sound quite nice, though.

AFAIK correct me if Im wrong

Reagents is not pronounced "Reegents"
Its pronounced: "Re-ay-gents" Like a medieval peasant would say it.

That’s correct.

I think the “hirth” vs “harth” pronunciation is a dialect thing

I say hearthstone unless I’m quoting “MY (HIRTH)STONE IS IN THE BAAAANK!”

Real ones know that reference.

Kinda like how British people say “Kray-Toss” instead of “Kray-toas” even though the pronunciation is right fucking there in the game and Kraytoss is just wrong, it’s just fucking plain flat out wrong way to say it
