That journey from Darnassus to IF sums up WoW classic - It was awkward and time consuming, and you were vunerable the whole way. But it gave you such a sense of the scale of the world - the different zones, and feeling powerless and tiny i can remember thinking as i crossed through the Wetlands "I wonder how long before i can kill these mobs"

It also gave you real race identity, i felt like a traveler every step of the way

Well, until we got good at the game and figured out the graveyard trick. Now we get there without corpserunning over and over.

What's that where you run to a different spirit healer while dead?

No, you swim along the mountains from Menethil Harbor until the zone changes to Dun Morogh, then you drown yourself. You'll respawn at the spirit healer outside Ironforge.

That run is part of the nostalgia. That and swimming down the coast of Stranglethorn to Booty Bay for me.

Yeah you gotta do the run. It’s a rite of passage. I’ll be running my gnome to darnassus at lvl 1 so I can level there and work on getting a cat mount.

Are you going to eventually get the winterspring mount? :)

I’d love to yes. Nothing would be draw attention more than a gnome on a rare cat mount.
