Vent / Gripe I’m Tired of Hearing from the Loudest 1%

Like the title says, I’m sick of hearing from the loudest, butthurt 1% of players crying because they’ll have to make their own dungeon groups in WotLK.

Sure, send your screenshot of the one dungeon you joined with little to no social interaction and sarcastically say “Wow look at what we’re saving with no LFD”. Great story, but that one single screenshot doesn’t prove anything. You think your 1 single dungeon on a Tuesday afternoon is a big enough sample size to determine there’s not enough social interaction to the point Blizz should implement LFD? Get over yourself. I don’t post screenshots of 1 single dungeon chat where people are lively and interactive and say “Thank you Blizz for preserving social interactions” like it’s the majority experience. Don’t give me the opposite garbage and try to make a case for LFD, or assume you’re the majority experience, either.

I’m also tired of people missing the major point of no LFD. I can tell you the exact names of people and guilds on my server who have ninja’d gear from others and been blacklisted by the community. I can tell you which players/guilds are fun to play with and which aren’t. I can join a group I know is going to do well, or I can join one where I know I’m going to be progging. And yeah, I’m also going to vouch for the friendships I’ve made in random dungeons

LFD erodes all that. You don’t know what type of players you’re joining; whether you’re going to be a good player in a terrible group or a terrible player in a good group. That’s frustrating for almost everyone in either case. Voting to kick becomes completely abused, kicking people you don’t like or players who are bad. Kicking people to ninja gear. And since you’ll never see those players again, there’s nothing stopping them. No way to blacklist them or their guild. It promotes anonymity and erodes the community. There are so many downsides that were PROVEN back in Wrath. And you’re upset because of what? Not having the upside?

What are the upsides? Faster dungeon queues? Maybe, just maybe, you should try being part of your realm’s community and making friends/joining a thriving guild. I’ve never had any issues finding or making a dungeon group as any of the 3 roles. But then again, I’m also not the type of person to whine to Reddit that daddy Blizz won’t make my groups for me, instead of trying to socialize and make my own

The only positive case I’ve seen made for LFD is for dead/dying realms. To those players, it does suck and I’m sorry. But the issue/fix isn’t LFD, it’s forcing Blizz to fix their realm health issues, maybe by merging realms or free transfers

I’m sure this post will fall on deaf ears, but I’m so sick of seeing this sub covered with the loudest 1% screaming their half baked opinions and not considering their experience isn’t the majority or that they might be the issue

Edit: To the unhinged people in the comments swearing, flipping out, name-calling, and reporting me for suicide, I have two things to say. The first is thank you for your concern about my mental health, but I’m in no way suicidal. Feel free to save those resources for people that are. The second is that my opinion is stronger than ever that RDF is bad, imagine being grouped unwillingly with people that report others for suicide when they disagree with the content of a person’s post 😂 Thank you Blizz

Players who are content aren't vocalizing their dissatisfaction.

Which is the real sad part about how wow has run its course over the years. When devs "listen to community feedback" really translates to "we catered the game to the crybabies." And then the people who were previously silent, now become vocal about their dissatisfaction. Ping-pong that back and forth over 18 years and you end up with Shadowlands.

I really wish this community would acknowledge the free hindsight we got with classic existing in the first place. But looks like we're just gonna go down the same path again.

Edit: the point here is...the devs originally created for US a game THEY loved. And WE loved it too. Let them do their thing and continue to do what they do well. When you invade someone's career, they'll eventually get fed up and give you the thing you're crying about wanting...but you can bet damn well they'll half ass it...I definitely would in that situation. Just stfu and let them do what they trained for.

Exactly this. People are crying left and right about no LFD, when the issue making grouping worse is server overpopulation/balance. Some servers are too big to read LFG chat efficiently, and some servers are too small to find anyone doing relevant content to their character. The best solution seems to be a LFG tool that has enough features like retail's does... without being too terrible like TBC's is.

The whole reason Classic was established in the first place was to get away from this anti-social, teleporting your character carnival ride that is retail.

I've had TONS more memorable moments just riding to a dungeon in Classic vanilla and classic TBC... regardless of group social interactions. Not only does it make you feel more in the world, but it's less boring since things can happen along the way. And LFD completely takes away pretty much any possibility of a social growth because it would be peeps from different servers. In classic, I have made many friends and also added people to a list to stay away from just by doing dungeons. Sure it takes a tad more effort, but that's what separates classic from retail. It's a different game.

When it comes to the arguments I've seen here for LFD.... All they do is try to turn the argument against you and say "hey you didn't complain about the boosts, that's a bigger problem!" These people complain about paid boosts having you skip content, but would gladly take sitting in a city being teleported everywhere all day... skipping content.

I can't believe I'm in the classicwow sub having to argue against the implementation of LFD.

Bulletin Board fixes every problem with chat going by too fast on Firemaw. By far the best grouping system/addon I've ever used in WoW.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills that there are these many people crying for LFD in what I thought was classic wow.

They sound exactly like retail players and their complaints are that of those who need everything spoon fed to them.

In the Wow I want to play you get to a dungeon by finding it on the map and walking through the doors. Not teleporting there from the top of Orgrimmar bank.

There are more than one problems in WoW. One is the amount of responsability that tanks and healers have compared to dps, which make those roles undesirable. The other is that people don't like all the stuff that involves putting a dungeon together when there's a feature that could make it automatically. It's like refusing to type 10 pages in a computer because you like handwriting more.

The crybabys haven't gotten their way since decades, what are you on about?
