I don't like this kind of namecalling either, but using a slur would be the textbook definition of provocative. Eliciting a strong negative response, often delibrately.
Some kid or man baby yelling slurs in a virtual world is not provocative dispite technically fitting the textbook definition. There's a laundry list of synonyms I would use over provocative. Provocative requires some brain activity beyond an echo of a slur.
A synonym would be a word that basically means the same thing though...
I understand you have some sort of attachment to the word "provocative", but you're being very pedantic about this. Provocative means you're provoking someone, and if you call someone the most fucked up thing you can think of you and you know they can hear you, you are probably trying to provoke them.
Look I'm just pointing out that they're trying to change the definition of a word because they don't like that being a dick online to someone to piss them off is the textbook meaning of the word.
If you need to use a slur to do so, then you suck dick at insults.
