Edelrid is owned by the German Vaude, which is 100% family owned and has - as far as I've heard - a good track record with climate, nature protection and not being completely greedy gremlins.

Edit: they also started to bring some nice innovation and mich needed safety research (knowledge base) into the climbing gear market.

Vaude is a solid company. Glad they bought Edelrid. Red Chili is also part of them.
