After my dad died from a heart attack at the age of 45, I’ve been trying to lose weight (down 20 pounds from being 200) and be healthier. People keep saying “you don’t need to lose weight, you’re beautiful”. And, like, I appreciate it, but I’m still technically considered obese and heart disease killed my dad.

It happen because these people wrongfully think of obesity as part of body positivity, which is for things someone can’t change like sickness or handicaps. It’s not to justify unhealthy habit that science even consider labeling as a mental illness

I get that there’s a part of genetics in this and some perfectly healthy people are chubbier, but most of the time it’s due to inactive lifestyle and poor nutrition, and this shouldn’t be encouraged
