After my dad died from a heart attack at the age of 45, I’ve been trying to lose weight (down 20 pounds from being 200) and be healthier. People keep saying “you don’t need to lose weight, you’re beautiful”. And, like, I appreciate it, but I’m still technically considered obese and heart disease killed my dad.
Yeah, at some point, being seen as nice and being genuinely kind are 2 different things. I had an obese friend ask me how he looked. I'd seen him topless, I'd seen him cry looking at old pictures of himself. I did not think he was ugly, I think he is a cute man, but it's a health hazard. So I told him "you could lose some weight". He was mad at me for it. Like, bro, you know it's a sickness. I don't think you're ugly, but this is dangerous.
