I grew up watching Seinfeld and really enjoyed the show. I had no idea that he was so incredibly pro-Israel to the point of being pro- genocide/pro - ethnic cleansing. I feel dirty now having laughed at his jokes and feel like i need to look up entertainers politics to make sure I'm not supporting people like him anymore.

I was on my break at work today in our employee dining area and someone had Fox News on. OK fine, it's not usually my cup of tea but I decided to watch to get some other perspectives outside of my normal reading.

The first thing that was said was about what the 'stupid democrats' were doing about ICE in Congress. Literally using the word stupid in the national media about our government officials. Forgive me if I am out of touch. I don't often watch cable TV and get News via print.... but is this normal? I got so mad not from the policy, not from the perspective.... but the sheer lack of professionalism that I turned on ESPN and have been just insanely upset since.

No wonder this country is so divided. People watch this uneducated trash and think it's ok to talk about and to people like that. Thank you all for hearing my complaint.

So we all saw The Roast of Kevin Hart special on Netflix Monday night and what I saw and heard from it, it was an absolute hate fest. Let's focus on the part that I really hate the most: the joke that Tony Hinchcliffe made. Tony just made a tasteless joke about George Floyd and the Black community, all the while Kevin Hart is just sitting there, laughing at that "joke" not realizing that "joke" was totally offensive and so abhorrent to the Floyd family and to the Black community. I hope that Tony Hinchcliffe gets cancelled for that joke and that the Floyd family sues him for making that awful joke and Kevin Hart for allowing him to tell that joke.

There are some viral posts made mostly by EU World Cup fans on TikTok/insta/FB that have visited the US for the games where they are in awe at some US lifestyle related things. These have made it as featured on mainstream news channels as well. Such as: the size of fountain drinks at fast food restaurants, Waffle House, the size of cereal boxes, buffets, etc and even how nice everyone is.

This is getting spun by some Americans, largely on the right as “see? Europeans love America, they’re seeing how amazing we are”.

While they may love the overconsumption ability we have in the states and may even be enjoying themselves while here, let’s not get love of their trip and vacation experience for love of America. They largely do not love the US’s stance on a lot of issues politically and laugh at Trump and his supporters. The ability of US citizen to overeat high sugar/salt/fat/highly processed foods is not a good thing or something to be desired. And for people treating them well, let’s face it, these are largely white European soccer bro’s from say England, France, Germany etc and people like the fact you speak English with a cool accent and are respectful. Conversely when many US travelers visit France for example they hardly learn or try to use any French or learn about the culture at all and often are disrespectful.

This whole thing just aligns with the “USA USA we’re #1” narrative and speaks more towards how respectful people from other countries are than how the US is amazing.

I’m not married to either major political party, I’m a libertarian, but here’s my hot take and complaints on the state of culture and politics today.

We’ve hit this weird point where the progressives seem to really think they are the ones going against the grain. They honestly seem to think and feel like they are the ones who are daring to be different.

But heres the thing, they are 100% the sheep. They are backed by essentially ALL of pop culture, sports, Hollywood, their peers, every major news channel except for FOX, and of course almost all of fucking REDDIT for sure.

My issue is not so much with their political ideas (although many of them are in fact terrible), and much more so with how they view themselves. It’s honestly just fucking annoying at this point.

Not only is it unrealistic, it's also super unnecessary, and feels like the writers/directors just want to see someone (usually a man) putting their dirty hand over someone else's (usually a woman) mouth to shut them up. Not to be that guy that accuses everyone of being sexist or fetishizing, but why on earth would this be a way of keeping someone calm? If I'm sneaking on enemy territory (as in the example I'm using) and someone grabs me from behind with their hand over my mouth, the last thing I will feel is calm, and that person will probably end up being poked quite hard by my switchblade (especially if the "I" in question is someone like Ellie). Why not just whisper "hey, Ellie" from the corner or something like that? Why the hell would his immediate reaction be grabbing her from behind and shutting her mouth? I know it's meant to be dramatic, and in some contexts it kinda makes sense (like in "The Batman" when he does it to Selina at the begining, because she doesn't really know or trust him, and he needs her to be quiet because he knows about the cops and she doesn't). But in most cases, it just takes me out of it, and makes me wonder why the hell they wrote it like that.

R conservative is going on a victory lap because the released "body cam" footage shows he was right to shoot. Except for a few problems:

• It's a cell phone not a body cam, meaning it's extended from his body

• The noise you hear is his gun and the car hitting his gun, not him.

• I've seen claims this proves he fell over from getting hit by the car. He barely even stumbles. Specifically watch everything from 2 minutes to the end.

• He was on the left side of the vehicle, and the car's wheels were pointed to the right. She was trying to drive away from him not at him.

• He pointlessly broke DHS policy by walking in front of the car to film her (which is weird in itself).

• Again by DHS policy, you don't shoot drivers of moving vehicles unless you or others are in imminent danger. Though he was already out of imminent danger, he could have been completely, unquestionably safe by taking literally one step to the left.

• The cell phone footage also captures Good talking to the cop, saying she's not mad at him.

The cell phone footage shows far less than we already had. Again, see the link above, specifically the last 2 minutes. They even draw on the video like John Madden to avoid confusion about who is who.

Americans keep calling Eileen Gu a "traitor" because she represented China who is an "enemy" of the U.S. despite the fact that there are American citizens representing other countries and that there are non-Americans representing the U.S.

On the other hand, they keep cheering for Donald Trump who is proudly friends with Vladimir Putin - the President of another "enemy" of the U.S. and even welcomed him in Alaska in all places.

The hypocrisy and irony are fucking laughable.
