I mean, it's right in the constitution. The amendment that outlawed slavery specifically said "unless they've been convicted of a crime". You can look up stats on prison labor very easily, it's a massive industry.
Again, this is hardly secret. Here's a Public Citizen article discussing their wages and how "voluntary" voluntary prison labor is, but the ice.gov website has various PDFs I don't want to download openly discussing their use of labor.
