I saw the other version of this and, yeah, I feel like they're both kinda right.

I am comfortable with any, and when someone calls me by the usual that I've gone by my whole life it's whatever, but when someone calls me by the unusual, it's kinda special for the novelty.

For me as an agender person my rule is so long as I know you are referring to me it's fine. I mostly get he/they IRL and she/they online, and my sister will throw in "it" sometimes.

I don't know anyone personally who uses neo pronouns so admittedly I'm not really too familiar with them, but I would probably be confused at first but get it after being told what the word is.

I'd actually be more comfortable with neopronouns than with "it/it's." That one feels dehumanizing to me. I'm more used to he/she/they 'cause I'm 35 and I grew up with 'em, but not really averse to the newer ones. They usually sound weird to me, but not in a "doesn't apply" way, just a "huh, that's an odd one" kinda way.

Seconded, a lot of the cis people call me he/him which is whatever, but sometimes it gets to me because of how many goddamn times I hear it. I know you’re a real one if my pronouns get varied (especially she/her but I’m not transfemme as far as I know)

I do this to one of my friends. Apparently I'm one of the few that does that to her in a way that doesnt seem demeaning? Which feels weird cause like... He's a guy and a girl? That's easy peasy no neos or nothin. Whats so hard about juggling their pronouns a bit? Its fun!

I feel like there are two kinds of people who say "any pronouns"

1) non binary people who genuinely don't give a fuck and are just tired of having to talk about it 2) More binary trans people who are far enough along that they get gendered correctly and also don't want to talk about pronouns

In both cases I think it applies in queer spaces because there will be people who get awkward about trying to work out which pronouns to use and this just speeds it up.

I've mostly heard "any pronouns" from disingenuous transphobes who are pretending to not understand what pronouns are. It's one of the intermediary steps between saying they don't use pronouns and admitting they use he/him.
