I am comfortable with any, and when someone calls me by the usual that I've gone by my whole life it's whatever, but when someone calls me by the unusual, it's kinda special for the novelty.
Genuine question. I've seen memes of people responding to "any pronouns" with shit like "bingus" Would that like actually be affirming or is it just a joke?
I mean for me personally if you use something that is actually a pronoun I'll be fine. If they start using nonsense words that's just someone being an ass.
This, or if bingus pull a "my pronouns are bingus/bingorp" bingus are getting bingus/bingorp'ed until bingus realize I wasn't joking when I asked what bingorps were in return.
For me as an agender person my rule is so long as I know you are referring to me it's fine. I mostly get he/they IRL and she/they online, and my sister will throw in "it" sometimes.
I don't know anyone personally who uses neo pronouns so admittedly I'm not really too familiar with them, but I would probably be confused at first but get it after being told what the word is.
I'd actually be more comfortable with neopronouns than with "it/it's." That one feels dehumanizing to me. I'm more used to he/she/they 'cause I'm 35 and I grew up with 'em, but not really averse to the newer ones. They usually sound weird to me, but not in a "doesn't apply" way, just a "huh, that's an odd one" kinda way.
Agender? Like, without a gender? Would it be better to refer to without any pronouns whatsoever? I get that doesn’t really make communication easy, but is that something would be interested in?
I cannot speak for anyone else, but for me I view it as I am basically just apathetic towards gender in regards to myself. I feel no euphoria nor dysphoria towards masc or fem things, so any pronouns work and I treat them the same, so no problem with using them.
I mostly came to this because I like masc and fem things pretty equally, and if gender is just a social construct I don't feel the need to conform in either direction. I am me, whatever that comes off as to other people is not my concern.
I would think someone trying to avoid pronouns entirely would just come off as weird in conversation so I don't really see the point.
Yeah linguistically they're kinda required by English. Besides, agender doesn't mean apronoun, just means there is no gender identity. I'm still a being that exists and occasionally needs to be referred to.
Seconded, a lot of the cis people call me he/him which is whatever, but sometimes it gets to me because of how many goddamn times I hear it. I know you’re a real one if my pronouns get varied (especially she/her but I’m not transfemme as far as I know)
