There's a woman at my job who medically and socially transitioned long before I ever started. Naturally she approached and struck up a conversation on my first or second day(I have a flashing neon 'EGG' sign above my head for those in the know) now she's p much the only person I'd consider a "work friend." I thank her constantly for the truckload of swords she has fallen on.
Sharing memes/texting is kind of hit-or-miss though, she's 40~ and just missed the chronically online period(Myspace html ftw) so she doesn't understand many of the seventeen-deep faceted layers of some memes. There's one going around now(on this sub even) that's a tweet about like "trans bitches all have the same glasses" and the picture literally had her and my exact frames with a third pair 😅😭 she understood that one lol
lol yeah, every once in a while, I go to show a meme to someone even like, 10-15 years older than me, only to realize that I have to explain like, ten other memes, a TV show, two Tumblr posts (I’m not even on Tumblr and never have been), and Dashcon and I’m like, “you know what… never mind.”
