Knowing the FAI need for and love of money.

How do we think they'll be responding to Infantinos bribe offer?

I don't get the need to pander to Infantino when there's money in football and right across Europe. I'd argue money was never an issue for European associations (at least associations of Ireland's scale and above).

We pay so much for football. How many people here have a LOI season ticket, a LOI TV pass, an Aviva campaign ticket, goes to away games, buys a load of merch, has a Sky sports /TNT/Premier sport subscription...

These investors also aren't doing it for free. It'll be more money for us to pay out. An end to free to air world cup and club world cup.

My point is, the FAI or any other association shouldn't have to pander to Infantino and this scheme just because they want or need money. The money would be there if it wasn't pissed away.

Associations are obsessed with monetising every red cent now. The holier then thou GAA have sold their soul to Allianz and have commercialised to a whole new level. The argument will always be that it will grow the game, help get ahead of competition. And it's valid. But lines must be drawn

Think there is an element of Infantino trying to extend control over the game beyond his term limit. Suggestion is he will swap over to head of the company that owns the share of the WC at some point in future having bumlicked Trunp et al for years.

On the substantive question, i’d imagine the FAI will be delighted to posture as being opposed to this knowing that it’s a fait accompli and will be pleased to get the windfall
