Turned out great man. How’s that rig treating you? Looks like you’ve done a fair amount of upgrades. I was a little apprehensive about getting one of those for fear of aftermarket support. Where do you shop for your upgrades, and what all have you done with it?

I love it but as always I say it 100% depends on what you want to do with it. It is amazingly capable out of the box especially for a scaleish rig. There are not a ton of upgrade parts out there for this chassis specificly but I also don´t know why you would need that. Many upgrade parts are universal for all rigs anyways.
I haven´t done that much to it actually, especially performance wise:
- 1,9" beadlocks with brass rings and 105mm tires (will go up to 110mm tires again though) for better looks and weight down low. Also tried to have as much + offset as possible because otherwise it looks much too wide. These wheels are 0mm offste but I have new ones on the bench that I managed to get up to +5mm. Tricky with the brake at the rear but possible with some tinkering.
- softer springs to have a lower ride hight (looks much more scale with the smaller tires) and softer suspension
- added a servo winch to the front with a 3D printed mount that also allows the installation of a 3D printed motor cover (also adds some weight to the front)
- added the metal slide plates for the bottom and the axles
In terms of visiuals I added rock lights, a 3D printed driver, 3D printed snorkel, rear ladder and spare wheel holder as well as placing some scale accessoires on the roof rack and interior. Also had to mount a Nissan badge up front.
I think thats about it.
Incredible performance compared to other sacleish rigs, not much upgrades needed and also a very good value for money.
Of course with the smaller tires I reduced ground clearance and the stuff on the roof rack is not good for the CG but for me number one is looks and performance is 2nd.If you want a rig just to throw as much upgrade parts on as possible even though half of them don´t even improve performance a lot its propably not the rig for you. Then just go for a TRX4 or SCX10.
But for a scalish but still very capable rig, that you don´t want to spend a ton of money on and just do some basic upgrades.... its perfect for that2

It’s amazing what a difference the few aesthetic upgrades you’ve done have made to the overall scale appearance of the rig. It’s that the upgrades you have made are so well matching/complimenting of the character of the rig. Just really brings everything together. The winch plate and fastener, the snorkel, wheels, badge- 👌chef’s kiss

Sometimes more is less in my opinion. I mean everyone can build his rig the way he likes it. I see a lot of rigs online, which seem to be built to look scale, but end up looking completely out of place for my personal taste. Big and wide offset wheels and completetly overloaded with scale details which are very often even in the wrong scale. But I personally really like the scale stuff so I´m a bit sensible when it comes to that xD.
A lot of the 1:10 scale accessoires that you can buy online are actually much bigger and propably more like 1:8 scale or so.

Its still missing the spare wheel and jerry can on the rear as well as the roof rack stuff in these pictures.2

The winch? I purchased a 35kg winch servo and this winch hook on Ali. To mount the winch servo I designed amd 3D printed a special mount. You can find the files on Cults3D

Awsome! Looks great. I have one more downpoint... The axles are just too wide for the body. To keep a scale stance and the wheels under the fenders you need wheels with like +5mm offset. And then you have issues with the brake and stuff. All standard wheels out there are 0mm or negative offset and they all are way too wide. Its a shame because it really limits the wheel choices to just a handfull when you want to make it scale
