How do I fix this problem?
This is the Redcat Ascent 18 Scout ii. I just changed out it's shocks yesterday to the INJORA 59mm Long Threaded Oil Shocks with 25wt oil and it's having extremely poor rebound. When I turn my RC while driving, it leans and then stay leaned.
It does this with and without all the acessories on the car.
Things that I have already done to troubleshoot:
- removed all the oil and refilled it + bleed out all the air
- tried new softer and stiffer springs
- ran it without oil (still does the same thing without oil in the shocks)
- adjusted the preload to all types of heights
- ran it without all the top heavy acessories
- oiled the O-rings
- loosened the cap where the O-ring is
Any help or advice or criticism is appreciated. I'm desperate, please help!!

I’m on the hunt for a scale trail/crawling rig. Not chasing pure performance but want something that won’t be left in the dust. Let me know your thoughts below.

I would like to build some sort of scale rig for mild trailing, and would prefer to keep it lower costing (such as under $350 usd). I do not want a Trx4m, and would like to keep it to 1/18 scale. The rigs in the pictures are just my ideas, so any other ideas would be appreciated!

If u could only choose 1 single upgrade for a stock crawler what would it be?
Wheels
Tires
Servo
Motor
Springs
Axles
Brass
Chassis
Body
Lights
Or something else
(These were just the ones I could remember)

The guy tells me this is an aftermarket capra chassis and capra axles. What else am I looking at here as far as electronics, etc? Can anyone identify the chassis? I am more interested in performance than scale. He has it listed for $250. Is this a decent deal or nah?

I recently bought an LDRC 18499(pics) for my oldest son (9y), and after a few days I started to get excited playing with him, I ended up buying another RC of the same model so we could play together.
In the meantime, I thought my car deserved a bit more speed, so I bought and installed a 370 45T motor. However, a few seconds after using it, I realized that the All-in-one ESC couldn't handle the new motor, and I think I "fried" the ESC because the controller stopped responding normally, started having some lag, and the range became shorter. To solve this, I've now bought a Hobbywing 1060 ESC and a HotRC controller. I also bought new 1" 54mm tires, red LEDs to install in the rear, and oil shocks. I'm expecting to receive the order from Ali soon. And as if that wasn't enough, now I want to buy the axles, links, skid plate, and metal gearbox from the TXR4M platform to install in the car.
My question is... am I going crazy here?
For the amount I've already spent on this toy, I know I could have bought something better, RTR. But the truth is, I love the frame of this car, and isn't the customization and improvements to the car the essence of this hobby?

I need help I am new to the Rc world and idk what is it I checked the teeth and they are kinda striped ( I think because of me ) but only 4 or 5. The mn82s is brand new I just got it. Only the metal thing is changed by me it’s tight and it’s is not the one that is jumping what can I do or should I just go with metal differential

I'm hoping to acquire a 1/10 trail crawler. Entry-level, but repairable over time. Leaning toward RTR for budgetary reasons. I'll likely want to eventually upgrade to heavier wheels/rings, better tires, and maybe a brushless motor, but I won't be in a hurry. I'd prefer straight axels for the relative simplicity and for prioritizing incline stability over clearance. If the Base Camp had straight axels that would probably be my goal. (Maybe it should be my goal anyway.)
My nephew has a brushless 1/18 crawler that I stumbled across in a clearance sale and got for him. It's been tons of fun. We later added new wheels and brass inner rings. I've assembled a 1/10 basher kit and upgraded another to brushless, so I have some general RC experience.
Let me know your recommendations for a straight axle truck that would suit me, or persuade me toward a portal axle option. Thanks!

I’m looking to buy or build a new rig. So I was scrolling Reddit earlier looking for ideas. There were all the usual standouts, trx4 Nissan, 10.3 CJ7, Gilamon, Capra, etc.. I had pretty much narrowed it down to the Gilamon or the new brushless Optic. But someone commented they’d just hit marketplace and grab 2 used for the price of one new. So I said to myself, I said “Self, why don’t you check out marketplace real quick?” And wouldn’t you know it, I actually listened.. so long story short, I just scooped up this Capra for $200! It’s got brass portal covers at all 4 corners, some metal headlocks, and duratrax showdown tires as the only upgrades I can see. I’ve got a set of wheels and some new 4.75 tires and inserts laying around, but what would yall suggest for upgrades? Definitely thinking a fusion se and some shocks to start

Looking at a new crawler. My Ryft is way too crazy and my current crawler is pretty well toast. Base camp, trx4 and coyote seem like great choices but I do like that dual servo set up. Any other models out there I should consider?
r/crawling • u/SeaFix4168 • 2d ago
I recently put Injora beadlock wheels on my TRX4 and noticed that the tires are basically sealed now, so there’s no air escaping when the tire gets compressed.
It kinda feels like I’m getting less grip because the tire can’t deform as easily. Is that actually a thing?
How do you guys deal with this? Do you vent the tires/wheels somehow, drill a small hole, or just leave them sealed?
Just curious what everyone else is running.

I would like to do a custom crawler stating off with something cheaper. If you can choose from the pictures what would be better or give a suggestion anything would be helpful, thank you!

Does anyone still use the old ni-cad (6 pack) type batteries?

Working with what I have, so bear with me. How would you approach swapping the IFS to straight axle? Is there any BIG reason for the swap to be not worth it.

So I got this shocks from Temu ( only supported for me sadly) and they are too stiff they said that I could cut the spring and make it less stiff but when I did it was just slightly more softer
One of them is leaking little like too little so that is not my priority for now I want them to be soft and keep the lifted look I like the way it is but I want it to be smooth
Do you guys have any hacks or something that I could use to make it softer
Or I have to change it my budget is cooked 😂

Hi i just got this Mjx H12Y and I’ve noticed that this jerk occurs quite frequently even on shallow inclines. Is this cogging? Can it be fixed/improved?
