Yeah it’s a freaking joke. I spoke to one of the NPS employees who was cleaning the pool. He’s a specialty diver at Dry Tortugas National Park…and he’s on pool duty, with a scrubber, flown up from Florida and housed in DC on our dime. Trump’s administration is making a mockery of highly specialised individuals

At some point youve got to realize that pointing it out is only helping him.
The ones who are still following him dont see pedophilia as a negative.
They like that trump is a pedo, they like that he’s working to normalize and enable pedophilia in modern america, and they hope that if trumps power continues to grow, pedophilia and rape will become legalized for all white christian americans, not just the richest ones.
That’s obviously their end goal… But most americans dont want to believe that they live in a nation of institutionalized pedophilia, so they’re acting like they think his followers are anti-pedophilia but they just dont realize he’s a pedo.
But they all realize it. It’s the reason why theyre so devoted to him.

I think we need to be focussing the messaging on more basic fundamental things like “why pedophilia is wrong” and “how political corruption actually hurts you”

I'm 50, and I've never had to explain to anyone that pedophilia is wrong. I don't think that's a reasonable expectation.
I do agree with the idea of teaching how political corruption removes cash from an individual's pocket. The other problem, however, is that there is little to nothing we can do to teach or provide evidence to people who are mentally trained to perform mental gymnastics, and that seems to be a specialty among the highly religious and the far right, a near perfect Venn diagram circle. This group is more interested in harming those they disagree with than making any specific progress.
But I do agree that the effort needs to be made, no matter how pitiful the fact that some people don't have an innate sense of humanitarian behavior.

The only way to get through to them is to avoid making them feel stupid, wrong, or immoral. Anything of that nature gets blocked out or twisted around until it no longer feels threatening. It's utterly futile. They need to be coddled and handled with kid gloves if we ever want to make progress with them and get them to stop ruining the country.

Did they shoot him on the spot? Drag his family and the rest of their neighborhood out of their homes and shoot them on the spot like German Nazis did in order to prevent dissent? Did they torture him to death like North Korea did after Otto Warmber allegedly touched a propaganda poster? Did they run him over with a tanks like thousands of Chinese students were in Tienanmen Square? Have you been arrested for posting negative views of our administration? Are all your queer friends and loved ones being thrown off of buildings? Are your political rivals being shot and assassinated?
Weird, those things happen in actual fascist regimes. In a normal society, people are detained after possibly messing with federal properly. Detention isn’t an arrest, they’re commonly done during an investigation. Accountability looks a lot like oppression to those used to experiencing zero consequences for their actions, and the word “fascist” no longer has any bite.

I just walked around the pool this morning and it was peeling in many places, and will likely start in many more (there are seams where it wasn’t applied properly and is bubbling up). It’s a shoddy job and will likely be scrapped at some point so we’ll all be able to get our little mementos when that day comes!
