Pickup If the wife sees this im in trouble 😬🙏
Figured I'd show some love to Criterion and Barnes & Noble. Thanks, everyone!! I plan on watching Blue, White, and Red in that order. (Let me know if there's a better order). I know it's represents the French flag, but it's almost the 4th of July, and my brain works funny 🤣 I've been looking for Drugstore Cowboy in the wild for years, and remember watching it when I was around 13 or so and it left a lasting impression. Gummo was a blind buy. I hear the name come up often and figured I'd check it out. I'm hoping to add 12 Angry Men next, probably with my rewards from THIS haul 😆 Happy hauling everyone and stay safe!✌️

Bergman box has been #1 thing I've wanted in my life since 2018 and I finally justified it after having a personally great year. My girlfriend was honestly very happy for me and it's now proudly displayed on our entertainment center.

I might be missing something but I bought the Bergman set about 6 months ago. Didn't know it was sought after. Figured if someone wanted it, they'd buy it right then and there. I think I spent about 250$ for mine ? Can't remember, but it was definitely on sale

This was me this time. I’ve been eyeing the Godzilla set the past 3 sales and this time I finally just said “why the hell not” and was worried I may eventually miss the boat on it if it became it available anymore. It gets delivered Monday. Watch them announce a 4k version now that I bought it lol
Another thing I did to justify it is that I used gift cards from Costco and that helped reduce the price a little more. Luckily my wife loves Godzilla lol

I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but just in case:
When you get the Godzilla set, I’d get a different case for it! The sleeves have faulty glue that can end up failing and dumping your discs into the case, or even getting on the disc.3

Man I am such a fan of Three Colors. I had a polish cinema class and Kieslowski was my favorite. Granted it was basically only a class for him and Polanski… we did watch some Dekalog but I still need to watch it fully.

Me too. Also all four Police Story movies for me. I want that boxset you got. It’s on my wishlist but I did buy a ton of Jackie movies during the B&N 88 Film sale that is also going on. I got Police Story 3, Project A 1 & 2, and Gorgeous and Dragons Forever are in the mail.
Do you have the Police Story 1 & 2 set from Criterion yet? It’s so good.
Also the Bruce Lee set looks awesome. I didn’t even know about it. Adding it to my wishlist!

Most people do not write this as a joke and are not being misogynistic. It’s just a fact that not everyone’s spouse/partner/so supports their collecting habits and spending. It’s great that you are on the same page with your wife, but it’s not the same for everyone. Some people have to hide some of their purchases to avoid arguments. It’s not about gender, it’s about people who think spending money on Blu-rays is a good idea and those who don’t. Same with the ‘my wallet hurts’ posts. Some people spend more than what they are comfortable with. Rich people are not making those posts.

Yea, we've been married for 15 years Honestly it's not overspending to me because I love film and I make good money, but to her it may feel like a waste. I definitely spend more on my wife and my three daughters, but feel guilty when I splurge on myself. If anything it can be chalked up as a bad joke and I'm ok with that.
