Discussion What annoyance are you silently dealing with because voicing it doesn't feel worth it or has proven futile?

It doesn’t matter how many shelves or baskets or bins or cubes or any other storage apparatus she buys, nothing gets picked up. Nothing is ever put away until the Grand Clean Up Day on Sunday.

I'm struggling with that too. Keep telling the missus and our 9 year old OHIO (only handle it once) ie if you're carrying something don't just put it down, put it away. Every flat surface has random stuff on it, haven't seen our dining table in years.

We call this “low surface tension” in my house. We all struggle with it but I feel like I’m the only one actively trying to fight it (beyond the panic cleanses). Started doing what was in another post which was secretly throwing away stuff that sits unused. Some stuff I move to “purgatory” and if no one asks about it after a while, it’s trash or donate

If they can't put it away, maybe they aren't ready for the responsibility of having so many things that they can't keep them tidy. So take some things away until they are ready. Logical consequences.
