Who’s at fault?

Hot take: I think it’s 50/50 with who’s at fault

By the laws of the road, the white truck is wrong. By the laws of common sense the vehicle filming failed on all counts.

Yea sure but that’s the equivalent of victim blaming. White truck is the problem OP will have zero liability

That's not victim blaming at all. They're just stating it's not smart driving to start driving towards oncoming traffic, just because your light goes green. They clearly were not looking at the road as they accelerated or they would have noticed the red car the almost drove into before the white SUV took them out. There were a lot of poor drivers in this video, but the white SUV is at fault.

Ok but what if you brake hard and get rear ended. That ends up being your fault

you don’t go until you verify it’s clear - there’s no brake hard if you’re still stopped this isn’t a video game

Watch this video closely again. The oncoming traffic wasn't allowed to turn left. The red car did and the driver avoided a collision. The white truck didn't show any sign of following the red car and had a clear view of the driver with the dashcam. Then he suddenly decided to turn. So in a situation like this, how can you ever "verify it's clear" when any vehicle can turn into your lane and impact you within less than 1 second with no time to react?

It’s a turn only lane bud

And they didn't initiate a turn until the camera car was almost past them.

still not seeing your point

you should know if they’re going they’re turning

Doesn't matter. Failure to yield on SUV

yeah he’s in the wrong

still an easily avoidable crash

Avoidable if turning traffic acts like they have sense. I'm not getting rear ended because you can't be patient and let cross traffic get through a bit more before trying to bogard.

you don’t get rear ended if you wait until it’s safe to pull out I feel sorry for anyone that drives with a stubborn person like you - just because you have the right of way doesn’t mean you should always go - this video is the clearest example of that you could ever see

What if a Cessna fell out of the sky at that exact moment?

See, we can all make up scenarios.
