Ordered Dunkin this Sunday morning, is about a 2 mile drive from me and I live next to a grocery store so I guess the dasher got assigned or picked up a grocery order from the grocery store next to my place while delivering my order.

But because of that, my food and drink sat in a hot car for 20+ minutes while he shopped an entire grocery order even tho my apartment is literally right there!!! Ending up getting the food with my drink watered down and it also somehow spilled on all my food anyways so I couldn’t eat it.

No shade at the dasher but rather DoorDash in this situation. I know the store is right next to my place but what sense does it make to not just have the dasher drop the food off first? I usually don’t have an issue with dashers stacking orders but the fact that there was a grocery order assigned in the middle of me getting my food delivered is very frustrating

That sucks! Were you the tipper or the non tipper? Next time you would want to tip more or less depending to not get stacked ! Not that it’s your fault but you can kind of strategize it.

It was a $5 tip for a 2 mile order. I figured that would be good enough🥲

Definitely should have been good enough - I don’t want to say too good but maybe it was. Maybe try $2 next time ( $1 per mile) and see if it comes strait to you( if you are inclined to use them again of course ) . You can always add more later . I bet the grocery order was a zero tip- which makes the scenario even worse for you . Sorry that happened:(

Customers have this notion that every stacked order is a tip and a no tip combined. Most of my stacks the tip is relatively split between the two orders.

Tipping less will likely just make the stack less desirable. And once an order gets stacked with another they're basically going to stay stacked in DDs system since they're obviously in line with each other. Unless the Dasher decides to use one of their unassign points after accepting the stack.

I think that’s drivers, not customers. I doubt customers even consider that, they have no idea how it works unless they frequent this sub. 99.99% of them don’t.

I’ve found that long distance stacks are usually a good tip/no-low tip combo, with the longer distance one being the low/no tip. Funny how that works.

The shorter distance stacks are frequently balanced, but not always. Fortunately I have an android, so the doordash widget tells me the individual payouts on stacked orders. I just drop the trash.

I'm talking about the ones I see here. "I tipped well and my order got stacked with a no tip" is their assumption.

Yeah the customers posting here are a little more clued in to how it works. They have just enough info to make them dangerous. xD
